Hi everybody! I'm new here, and while many of you have your favorite brands and products, I have just started a job that pays well enough for me to be able to buy skin care products that aren't from the drug store! I'm pretty excited about this!
I'm 21, and I have extremely oily skin, and I break out easily. I do have one little patch of skin on my cheek that gets really dry. Can anyone recommend any products or brands for me? I'm overwhelmed!
Thank you! |

Hiya Lynnec! Let's see, there are so many solutions. Many people seem to dig either Decleor Ylang Ylang or Dr. Hauschka Normalizing Day Oil to help control the oilies -- these products are both oils, yes, but the theory is that applying an oil helps send your skin the signal that it needn't produce so much oil itself. I find it's also helpful because it hydrates your flaky bits at the same time (I've never tried Decleor but I love Dr. H).
Another staple, for me at least, is Jurlique Silk Dust. I have the Rose version, and I find it to be the best oil-absorbing powder I've EVER used, it's really quite phenomenal. You might even want to try the Lavender, since you're quite oily.
Let's see... some love Yonka Juvenil for on-the-spot acne treatment, though I personally haven't gotten to try it yet. Others love Jan Marini Bioclear stuff, another I haven't tried.
I'm sure there are lots more that others will suggest, but here's a start! Good luck and welcome! |

I love Decleor ylang ylang oil, it worked wonders on my oily skin and I used it just at night then the Hydra Floral moisturizer in the tube during the day. I was a constant blotter before using the ylang ylang. My skin is a little drier now that the weather is cooling off so I switch to the Decleor neroli oil and coconut oil (from the health food store) for nighttime. Hope this helps. |

Wow! Thanks for all the suggestions!
A friend gave me Dr. Renaud Intervention Seboregulating Cream. I've been using it for the past few nights and I love it!! Any recommendations for something for day time that works well with the Seboregulating Cream? |
