Okay, I just found this wonderful forum and website and have ordered a few things to try out. I have always used higher end (dept store) products and have tried many things but have never really found anything I love. I guess I am a bit of a product junkie.
Okay, I bought a sample pack of the Dr. Hauschka products including the cleansing cream and toner. I also ordered the Janson Beckett high performance anti-aging system (Skin Prep, AlphaDerma CE, and Okusil eye serum. I can't wait to try these out. I'm 37 and look probably early 30's but I have some wrinkles forming and need some help.
My questions. Is it okay to use multiple lines at one time? Also, if I am using a corrective type of product like the JB ADCE at night, do I just cleanse and apply a moisturizer and then the JB products? Or should I skip the moisturizer? If I have too many products I never know which to apply first. Like the Skin Prep says to apply after your face is cleansed so it sounds like I shouldn't use a moisturizer. Sorry, if this sounds kinda stupid. I want to get the most out of the products I can. I got the DH products for cleansing and moisture and basic care and the JB for corrective.
I'm just starting out so I hope to try many products here. I'm open to any suggestions as well. There seems to be too many products and I feel overwhelmed. Thanks.

Hi Sandy,
I personally do think it's ok to use multiple lines at once, and you'll find that most people here do as well. I'm not sure there's a point to using both the Dr. H toner and the JB Skin Prep though.
I don't use Janson Beckett, but I looked up the products you bought, and I'd suggest using the Skin Prep first after washing, then the ADCE and Okusil. If you feel like you need a moisturizer, do that last. That way the moisturizer won't interfere with the absorbtion of the ADCE. |

Thanks, that makes sense. Yes, I figured many ppl used multiple lines at once. It's to tempting not to.

Sandy, I do use Janson Beckett along with other lines. One of the keys to combining products from different lines is to use the thinnest to the thickest. In some cases you need to take PH into consideration as well. I have oily/combo skin with large pores and fine lines, so I have a lot of products I need to use everyday!
After am cleanse/EpiII, I apply AHA/BHA treatment. This is an extremely thin serum. I reason it should be used first because the low PH enables a lower percentage of AHA/BHA to work more efficiently. Wait 20-30 minutes, then I apply toner. While face is still slightly damp from toner, I apply Vit. C serum [thin, gel-like consistency]. Then the skinprep and AlphaDermaCE. At night, I would follow up on the AlphaDermaCE with Vit A, then a moisturizer if I need it.
Hope this helps,

Athena, thanks. Thinnest to thickest. I can remember that. How do I know the PH of the products. Wow, you guys all seem like such experts on here. I've used a lot of skincare products but am nowhere near as knowledgeable as you guys. I have a lot to learn. |
