I was wondering when you ladies get your nails done, do you always match the color of your finger nails to your toe nails?

For instance, do you get a french manicure on your finger nails and have your toe nails done in a red or other color?

What's the etiquette on this? Smile

LOL That totally depends on my mood on that day! Living in Florida where women are in sandals and open toe shoes all year long I see both all the time. Smile

I usually don't match -

Matching is nice sometimes and it works for some occasions but it's not what I do most of the time.

I've done a french on the toes and then a bright, cheerful color on my fingernails and vice versa.

Also for my job if I wear anything it's clear on the nails and I go all out on the toes.

I would definitely do a French on my hands and color on my toes, but 2 different colors put me off. I do try to stay the same (or nearly the same) on colors.

I much prefer french on my toes. I think because it wears longer than a color for me and it seems to make my feet look even more dainty than they are (size 5 1/2..US). If I were to get my fingernails done (which I never do because I work with my hands too much to mess with it), they'd be french as well. The other reason I'm not a big fan of color is because I find it yellows my nails easily. Confused

In the winter, I don't paint my toes. When I do in the summer, it is usually a bright sunny colour.

I usually wear a sheer pink or nudish colour on fingers. Sometimes just a couple of coats of clear OPI Nail Envy.

I am not concerned that I don't match.

I know a lot of people who use bright on the toes and use a pale color on their fingernails = easier to maintain and some don't like a bright on the fingernails.

I have older looking hands and sometimes bright colours are just NOT flattering.

While I don't agree with a lot of things in the book "How not to look old" by Ms Chrupp; she does mention soft pink lip and nail colours. Her photos convinced me.

For my skintone I do best with either French manicure and pale sheer pinks or deep reds as long as they aren't orangey. Smile

I do like the look of the French it's so elegant and dignified, but every now and then a girl's just gotta have fun. Smile

I'm originally from a tropical climate, now living on the East Coast, and I HATE wearing shoes in the winter. Come spring, I want my toes to be free and happy! So it's bright colors for me.

On my hands, though, I prefer a more subdued look. French is always classy, but I prefer soft pinks for my stubby little fingers. Embarassed

it seems im the opposite LOL
Usually in winter I wear bright on my toes and in summer with a tan I do white or pale pink.
Makes my tan stand out more

I work with my hands so no pint in painting those unless I get getl nails which again i go for a natural look.

I remember reading a fashion magazine and they said that match was "sadly gauche". Rolling Eyes That was about three years ago. For the most part I love sheers on my hands and something dramatic on my toes, but sometimes I just love the colour so much I can't help but do both, even if there are people out there who will feel vastly superior to me if I do.

I live in FL and I paint my toes year round. I probably match 50% of the time. When I dont match I always use the same color family though, so the colors go together but are not the same.

Usually I match..I used to apply same color on my hands and toe nails..I love to match them..I love to put colors according to my mood..If I am happy than bright colors other wise lighter shades..But due to busy life schedule I hardly give time to my Manicure and Pedicure so wondering to know any idea what should I do in between so that my hands and toes nail look good..
