Hi I just wanted to know if anyone has broken out severely after using dermabrasion crystals? |

What product did you use? The base could be pore clogging or it could be an allergic reaction. |

I have had purging, just not a breakout in reaction to the process. And usually, it is very mild.
It can uncover stuff lurking below the surface, but that has been a very rare occurance. |

Hi I bought some crystals from The Conservatorie and mixed them with a moisturiser that I had. It is either that, or the serum that i had. I mixed some egg white powder with it, to try to make a serum similar to the Joey New York one that I tried. But I think it is the crystals that have caused this. |

Hi dreamskin, welcome to EDS! I make my own microderma scrub by mixing it with a gentle cleanser, neem oil and jojoba. I've learned that my own mixture isn't nearly as forgiving as a lovely product like EpidermxII....When I use it on a weekly basis, I move it in circular motions all over the face and neck for approx. 30 seconds. I say move, rather than scrub, because I'm very very careful NOT to apply any pressure with my homemade formulation. Too much pressure could certainly result in a little irritation or worse.
Check out the DIY section --- tons of threads by people who do the REAL DIY stuff. I'm just a dabbler. |

Yes! I had this happen. I used to do dermabrasion on a regular basis...at least weekly, then I stopped for several months (maybe even 6 mths?) When I decided to start back up I broke out horribly after the first treatment, like I had acne (which I have never had in my life.) I was horrified. I had to go to a dermatologist. Apparently the crystals got imbedded in my skin. Needless to say I have never-ever done it since. |

Oh my god, that has freaked me out! Thats what this is like, acne, and I have never had it either. How long did it take to go away? DID it go away? What did the dermatologist say? |
