I just found some cold pressed Avocado oil at TJ Maxx for 7.99. The expiration date was 2010 and it originates from South Africa. The bottle specifically states that there is light sediment at the bottom and to store in a cool, dim area. The product has only the lightest green tint......not that different than olive oil. I hope that this is the right type of avocado oil! It sure is nice on the skin!

Cold-pressed avocado oil will indeed look like GOOD QUALITY olive oil---which is certainly more green than gold. The more golden the oil, the more refined it is. I would say that my oil is a shade or perhaps two shades darker than good quality olive oil. It is not deep, murky dark green, but it is surely green and not gold. Hope this helps. If the bottle says cold-pressed and unrefined, I'd assume it's the right stuff! Very Happy

I found mine for $8 at the local grocery store alongside the gourmet oils - walnut etc. It was a light gold green too.

Please tell me how your oil is working out because I just received mine from GoW and I am very disappointed. I believe it is rancid! It stinks so bad that I can not use even a drop and I am use to using unrefined oils.

TJ Maxx is a treasure chest for great beauty finds! If you don't care about the biggest "brand" names you can end up filling your TJ Maxx cart with great products. I've found amazing soaps, gels, lotions, etc. there! Love TJ Maxx!

WOW! I haven't been in a TJ Maxx for years, maybe a decade. I thought they just had clothes. ... But avocado oil?! That's crazy.

I love TJ Maxx but I am an hour away from it. It is surprising that TJ Maxx would carry avocado oil. Can you tell me what section I can find it in! Thanks!

TJ Maxx is great for beauty products! They have a whole section for them. Usually they are near the handbags section. But when you go there just ask and they will direct you to all the beauty products. And the stuff is very fairly priced. TJ Maxx is a sometimes you win/sometimes you lose store. Sometimes you find so many things and other times there is nothing. It is the same with the cosmetics section.

TJs is the best. Never the same place twice. AND..... a great selection of bath / facial products. I have to cut corners with clothing and home decor products, since I budget much of discretionary income to botox!
