Hi everyone!
Just wanted to first say that I love this forum.. great to get some experienced answers
I have read over and over and over, then re-read that everyone should reapply sunscreen during the day to fully protect skin. Well I don't know about you guys... but I work in an office and smearing my face with sunscreen might mess up my makeup slightly. I don't want to redo my entire face! Can anyone recommend a good sunscreen, perhaps in a spray, that would help me with my problem?
Thank you! |

I'm sure others just do as I do and apply sunscreen under makeup. I also use a foundation which has spf25 so I always feel like I'm protected for the day. Unless its really hot and I'm melting when I would just apply more foundation (pressed powder with spf) or mineral powder foundation. |

i know what you mean. it is hard to reapply sunscreen without having to redo your whole face. however there is a solution for that these days. there are some great powder sunscreens out there now. you just dust it on and don't have to mess up anything. |

Peter Thomas Roth and Colorscience (?) also make SPF30 powders. |

It is not so essential to reapply certain types of sunscreens. Those with physical sunscreening agents (titanium dioxide, zinc oxide) and the European sunscreens which use Tinosorb M and S are relatively stable. The brands are Avene and Galenic. It is the sunscreens that contain avobenzone (BMDM) which probably require topping up as this is more likely to have reduced effectiveness over time and its photostability may also be reduced somewhat by wearing make up. I thought that Clinique might have a spray sunscreen. They use physical agents in sunscreen, as far as I am aware. Otherwise, you can consider the powder sunscreens as already suggested. The mineral make up brand Everydayminerals (www.everydayminerals) also sell a powder sunscreen (Natural Reflections - under Finishing Powders section), although it is not SPF rated. It would be cheaper than the other brands. |

I think the idea about touching my face up with makeup that has SPF in it is most appealing to me... I checked the Colorscience products and the prices were a little staggering :S (I'm a student, sigh). But its definitely something to keep in mind in the future. Thank you so much for your input! |
