....for spot treatments on blemishes.

I was using a sample of Fresh's Umbrian Clay Treatment which was pretty good. I'm curious of what you use and why you like it. I have the very occasional breakout so I won't be using it on my entire face. I have heard of Suki's clay mask, Dr. Hauschka's Rejuvenating mask and PSF's mud mask. Can't decide what to try. Can you help me out?

Hi CMAYC
I use Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay. I am not sure where you are located but you can buy it on line from the Vitamin Shoppe. It is cheap and lasts a long time. It comes in a powder and you mix how much you need. I mix mine with Tea Tree oil and some Witch Hazel. It really feels like you are pulling stuff from your pores. Just my suggestion

FYI~ Does Not Contain:
additives, fragrances, animal products.

I haven't tried the other masks but I do use PSF Mud Mask and it's definitely a staple in my skin care routine, I love this stuff. I just use it on my breakouts over night and I find it dries them right up.

for spot treatment, use PSF Acne Treatment Mud.
Just dot it on the spots before you go to bed.

I purchased PSF Mud Mask for for daughter's acne. She spot treats breakouts and finds it works nicely.

Try the Clay-Neem Treatment from Earth to Body. It's my favourite deep-cleansing mask.

I recommend Kimberley Sayer Deep Cleansing Mask. I find it much more effective than the Dr Hauschka Clay Mask for treating spots, it also seems to help lessen the appearance at least of blackheads.

Another good clay mask to try is one by Zum Labs.

Yet another vote for PSF. I've tried a sample of the Dr. H mask and I really didn't care for it. I still have a sample of the Suki mask from EDS that I want to try, but based on the ingredients alone I think the PSF mask will be more effective. (The sulphur content is what typically busts my zits most effectively.)

my all time favourite clay mask is Dr Hauschka's Cleansing Clay mask. It is better than kaolin because of the the type of clay that is used, not as refined so it doesn't creep into pores and it rinses off clean 100%, it absorbs excess sebum and draws impurities to the surface.

I also really like Jurlique's Deep Penetrating Cream Mask, a white kaolin clay mask which comes in a tube. It has been touted as the organic world's Valmont Renewing Pack. Very relaxing and does brighten the complexion (although it is only temporary because it tightens the surface capillaries)

If I counted correctly, I think 50% like the PSF mud mask so far. When I ordered my Pumpkin enzyme peel mask through PSF last month, I also got a sample of the PSF mud mask...I used it to spot treat my 'hormonal' pimples, the ones that occur right before your cycle...And it did significantly help with size reduction.

I've also tried Mario Badescu's treatment that I used to buy from Nordstrom's...it is okay, but it is a bit strong...I noticed it really is a drying potion, I don't know how the Zeno works, but this might be the way cheaper version of it.

One product that I read about in some magazine a while back recommended using Queen Helene's Mint Julep Masque. This I do like, but tends to flake and get all over your pillow case while you sleep. They sell this at Walgreens at least that's where I bought mine!

I've tried Peter Thomas Roth's Sulfur Mask maybe a wk. ago, and I wasn't much of a fan...It didn't really seem to have the power to shrink these 'hormonal' outbreaks. I didn't really like the overnight treatment, it really didn't do much for me.

~So if I had to vote I would put it in this order

1. PSF
2. Mario Badescu
3. Queen Helene
4. PTR

Aztec Indian Healing Mask for SURE!!! It is my go to mask...not expensive...easy to find (whole foods) and it works EVERY time. I did one last night and my skin is glowy and clear today!

I also love PSF Acne Mud Mask as an overnight treatment if you have blemishes....not my fav for an all over mask.

WOW...thanks for all your feedback! So many of you recommend the PSF line here at EDS, that I'm surprised I haven't tried it out yet. For the price of their mud mask, it's definately worth a try. I did like the Fresh Umbrian Clay mask, but it's over 4 times the price! I'll give it a go and, if I don't like it, I'll try the other recommendations here. Thanks again! Smile

I'm another fan of the Aztec Healing Clay. My local Whole Foods carries it. Mixing it with the apple cider vinegar (organic with the "mother") as suggested really makes my face pulsate! Very Happy

Quote:
The unique structure of the molecules in Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay carry a negative electron charge. This comes from the valance electron count from the specific minerals found in Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay.

When a spectographic analysis is done on Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay, almost every mineral found on Earth is present. Aztec Secret is volcanic ash from when the Earth was formed. It is the foam residue left as the planet cooled The foam residue formed a pure clay vein layered between white sand, near one of the lowest parts of planet Earth.

When a facial or clay poultice is applied to the skin it forms a negative charge. Poisons and toxins stored in the epidermis have a positive charge - Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay lifts the pimple and blackheads into the clay bed to cause accelerated healing and nourishment to the skin with over 50 minerals. 100% NATURAL.

I sometimes add a few drops of particular essential oils to it as well....

I think Dr Michelle Copeland clay mask is very good for oily blemish prone skin. It contains bentonite and kaolin. Also it doesnt make the skin feel tight when you was it off like some clay masks. Also no fragrance so it wont irritate.

I definetly recommend it.
