Hi Everyone,
I just took the plunge and ordered the green marvel mini.
As soon as I receive it I will start my review update. I'm a tough critic on hyperpigmentation given the fact that I'm an Obagi faithful user.
I do want to try this and see what the results are.
Just FYI because I want to make sure that everybody knows the basis i'm starting with as the results may vary for others...i've been on a 12 weeks Obagi regimen and just got off. Most of my hyperpigmentation has lighten but not totally so...there is certainly room for improvement.
My routine at the moment is after cleansing and toning-
mornings- 5% obagi C serum around the eyes
20% obagi serum on face, neck and chest
moisturizer
evenings- 5% obagi C serum on eyes
20% C serum on face, neck and chest followed by
Obagi .1 tretinoin on face, neck, chest and hands (yes--and boy do they look great!)
Stay tunes and wish me luck...more to come

Hi everyone~ I'm new to this posting business; however, I love this forum and read a lot of the responses and discussions. A little history on my skin, I have hyperpigmentation on the cheeks, I believe it is dermal and extremely stubborn. I have tried IPL w/no success, and did try the Obagi Nu derm line for about 2 months, and I might go back to it.
I purchased the Ageless Beauty Marvel Mini Green about a month ago, and I really don't have much to compare it to b/c I've never tried the Baby Q or any other devices other than professional IPL treatments (had 6 done total w/no success I have also started taking MSM internally as well as putting MSM w/aloe vera gel on in the p.m. I use the Marvel Mini twice a day usually for about 15 mins. each time. I believe that my pigmentation has lightened. I don't know if the Marvel Mini will be a miracle device or anything. But I definitely think the MSM, Vit C, and Marvel Mini are all helping lighten the pigmentation. I think it's too early to say if the device is the factor or the combination of things. I will repost as time progresses, I plan to continue on this regimen. I hope this post helps some of you that are curious about the Marvel Mini. If I wasn't helpful, my apologies. |

Hi Trish~
I had a question with your hyperpig. is it dermal or epidermal? And have you ever tried anything other than Obagi? I also used Obagi for 2 months with some lightening, but I feel like I didn't get the results I need, which is I would like to see these spots gone. I took the msm, vit c, marvel mini green regimen about a month ago...and i'm starting to see more fading than when I used Obagi along w/IPL treatments (6 total). Well everybody, I will continue to post about my results with this current regimen, but if all else fails I really know that Obagi could probably do it. Oh I also have Triluma, but I don't know if Triluma and Obagi go well together. I would love to share results/concerns/questions. If anyone has any questions regarding my regimen or anything at all feel free to drop a line. Thanks! |

hi gellys,
did you stop obagi simply because it wasn't working as fast as you would have liked? or were there other reasons. do you feel what you are doing now is more effective? i am looking forward to hearing more on the Marvel Mini Green as well. |

Hi Petu~
I just finished a session w/the marvel mini. I stopped using Obagi because everybody kept saying your skin is so red, pink, scaley....the list goes on, and I got self conscious to tell you the truth. However, I feel maybe if I kept at it I would've had better results. I am contemplating whether to go back on Obagi. I know it's way too early to jump the gun and give up on msm, vit c, and the marvel. So I'm going to stick w/it for another month, at least this regimen and then see what happens. I know that you probably don't see results w/the msm + vit c for at least 6 months. I do like the results I am seeing, I mean the spots are still there, but they are fading. I'm hoping that they continue to fade. I don't think that the marvel alone could make it fade significantly, and that's why I do the 3 part system right now. But I am still definitely a fan of Obagi, and one day soon I will probably go back to it. I mentioned in another post, how my mom's friend is on her 3rd order of Obagi and has literally perfect skin. I mean her complexion is beautiful and NO SPOTS!!! So I am believer in Obagi...If you have any more questions, feel free to ask or pm me |

Hello All,

I just saw that EDS carries this product and ordered from here instead.
I am hoping that the other US company will cancel my order! |

Does anyone know the technical specs on these....joules cm/2? I posted some info on them on the LED thread, but was never able to find the energy output. I assume the wavelengths are the same as what I posted for the Marvel 6 in the thread below (see page 4):
http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?p=368003&highlight=marvel#368003
If someone could check their operating guide, I would really appreciate it! |

Hi Bethany~I checked my Marvel-Mini pamphlet...It's not so much a thick informational guide or anything...But it does have a little Q & A section, and the:
Q: There are different colored LEDs. What does green do?
A: With a wavelength approximating 525nm, the properties of green light best benefit those seeking to reduce hyperpigmentation and sun damage. LEDs emitting green light penetrate into the basal layer of the dermis and target the melanocytes.
Hope this is the answer you were looking for. If you want me to scan the pamphlet, and PM it to you or something (I don't know if I could PM it to you, like if EDS allows it or not). But if I'm allowed to, just let me know...And I'll send it to you. |

Gellys, the wavelength confirms what I had suspected, so that is good to know. Thank you for checking!
But that doesn't address the energy output...is there a customer service email address or phone number?
BTW, I noticed that their previous usage instuctions online said 20 mins 2x day (and somweher else I had read 15 mins), but I noticed on the EDS page that they increased that to 24 mins. Can you please compare that to your instructions too?
BTW, I already have the ProLight Platinum, but I may have to add this to my arsenal as well if you get good results! |

Hi Bethany~
I'm not sure about the energy output...The only other numbers I see on this pamphlet is that it uses a 100-240V AC Adapter.
You can reach them at 877-629-4429, email: sales@evisbeauty.com or visit the websitewww.marvel-mini.com
The Treatment Protocol states:
24 minute treatment, 9 minutes on pulsating, 15 minutes on constant 2 times a week for 8 weeks for a total of 16 treatments.
What I do: Use it only on constant...I remember Kassy mentioning somewhere (Oh, I think it's the thread about the Lightstim) that she uses constant light. So, I decided constant may be better, so I just keep my device on constant for the whole 24 minutes.
I haven't been using the Marvel as much as I want plus I'm waiting for a new device.
My future-mother in law uses this new device called the Galvanic Spa II from Nuskin, and she's convinced it works and ordered me one...So I'll have to see about that.
By the way, do you know anything about that device? I read up on some galvanic current devices, but I don't remember seeing anything too informative/personal experiences w/the Galvanic Spa...
As far as the Marvel mini goes, I notice my hyperpigm. on the cheeks is lighter, but I'm not sure if it's a culmination of things (i.e. MSM, Vit C, and the Marvel). I really should start using the Marvel more often...But I do notice my spots are lighter...I figure it's everything combined,I currently use it about 3-4 times a month.. |

Hi gellys, I'm so glad your getting good results with the mini-green. That's great that you only have to use it a couple of times a week, the other thread said something about twice a day.... I had a feeling you were going to respond to the green light.
I just wanted to clarify, that the light I use doesn't 'have' a pulsing mode, just constant...But as we spoke about a few months ago, even if it did, I probably wouldn't have used it that way.
I'm glad your liking the MSM and vitamin C too... It really is an awesome combination for the skin! (Dissolving a little MSM, and putting it into a cream or lotion will help too!!)
Here's a link for you regarding the NuSkin that's very informative..

Thanks Kassy!
I read up on the Nuskin site about this device...My future MIL is 53 and has been using this Galvanic device since December and she has seen a lot of improvement for her wrinkles and overall complexion. So she thinks it will help with my hyperpigm.
She's a nice lady, but I'm sure one of these days, I may get to see the evil MIL side. Doesn't everybody
But so far, I do enjoy the marvel, so I'll continue to use it! It's just a matter of using it more often.
((On a side note: When I quote someone, it doesn't have the box around the quote, it looks all funky...Do I have to highlight the person's response before I actually push quote on the thread?)) |

Gellys, there are some different view points on the pulsing aspect...some manufacturers like Gentlewaves insist that pulsing makes a difference; others think it is a marketing play.
But I would personally use the directions as the manufacturer states to get the best results.
Thanks for the info...I'll contact them to get the energy output. |

m. I'm resisting buying this in a hurry, in my desire to get rid of sun damage..because I cant find any reviews, anywhere, for this.
Is it one of those products that people arent quite sure if it helped or not?
Or, like BabyQ and Lightstim, some swear by it, and others say 'it didnt do anything for me'..
Some people have said that Lightstim has helped with pigmentation, and that is red light..
oh, I feel another expensive experiment coming on.. |

Hi Catski~
I'm not so sure about the Lightstim and other devices, since I only have the Marvel Green...But it's not a miracle device if your wondering that...I think it takes time and patience to get rid of sun spots/melasma/hyperpigm (whatever you want to call it)...
I have noticed that my spots have lightened while using the marvel, but please remember I also take MSM and Vitamin C along w/this device. I'm on a mission to rid myself of these spots on my cheeks...It's definitely a work in progress, but again not to sound cliche, "Patience is a virtue."
I believe the Marvel is fairly new compared to the other devices and therefore not too many reviews on this at all...I have been using it for about 4 months now, but my spots are not gone...And I don't get to use it that often...I think using it 2-3 times a week would be ideal.
But if your looking for a quick fix, I wouldn't recommend this gadget to you...IMO, it takes time and again as I've mentioned on this topic before (I take msm, vit c and use the marvel)...
I'm happy w/my results so far, but one day like all the people who suffer from spots, I too would like to be spot-free!
But if you want to give this gadget a try, I wouldn't say 'No', I'd just say be patient w/it and use it regularly. |

Thankyou gellys.
I know that the pigmentation issue isnt an easy one to deal with..
actually my mother has had a 'tea stain' as she calls, it, on her cheek, since she was in her 40's, and never given it a second thought!
Funny how we now have an ideal of ongoing perfection.. we make so much work for ourselves!
I take vit c and msm, also, and have been using NIA 24 on and off, and cp's.
The latest thing I have heard about for this issue, is azaleic acid. Not damaging, but apparently very effective. I'm thinking of trying it, when summer is over. At the moment I'm sticking with nice protective niacin.
I'm a sucker for toys, and green is my favourite colour. I can almost feel the money for this gadget shouting to get out of my bank account.. but honestly... the £££ outlay on skincare etc just goes on and on!! |

It sounds like there are quite a variety of usage instructions out there...even across Marvel Mini's own website and package insert.
As previously posted, the protocol WAS:
bethany wrote: |

Marvel mini is a series of three kinds of hand held devices that employ LED technology, a non-invasive, low-level, non- thermal light energy that activates skin cells. Each device uses different light wavelength to treat one particular skin problem. Marvel mini has been designed for the individual who wants to do their own maintenance treatments and touch ups at home and while on travel. Treatments have to be done every day to achieve the best results.
The whole treatment lasts for 30 days. The light is applied two times a day ( in the morning and evening) for 20 minutes each time.
Directions for use:
1. Cleanse the face.
2. Apply the essence.
3. Irradiate with constant light for 3 minutes.
4. Irradiate with pulsating light for 2 minutes.
5. Repeat step 3 and 4 four times so that the whole treatment lasts 20 minutes.
6. Apply the lotion if the essence is totally absorbed. In case the essence hasnt been absorbed, wash off your face first and then apply

On the new Marvel Mini website they state:

And the instructions provided with the LED state:

But at the end of day, you should go with whatever works for you! |

Does anyone have a specific review of what the marvel mini (green) has done for them?
i.e- did it even out skin tone, if so how long did it take?
Did you have any side effects?
Have you had any other noticeable benefits using this product?
I have bought this device for the purpose of lightening acne marks- has this worked for others?
Thanks
