Hello
Out of curiosity, anyone heard of this procedure? As went for a consultation, the nurse said it was like having ground glass rubbed into your face... she did say she had a very low tolerance for pain though.
The procedure lasts for 10minutes. You can not wash your face 5 days prior to the 'treatment' and have to use a special cleanser. The results are the same as 5 microdermabrasion treatments. and it is like having sunburn for 5 days. Your skin gently flakes off by the 5th.
Sounds pretty painful, the nurse had fabulous skin and the before and after pictures look amazing.
It is supposed to be all natural (how can this be if it peels the skin) and the main ingredient is nettles.
I'd love to hear from ANYone who has had this please, as keep finding the same blurb on each web page...

It can be all natural, as many peels are from natural sources. Glycolic acid a common peel strength acid is sugar cane based for example. 
It possibly has other added acid agents also.
Nettles are a very strong irritant, so a nettle paste, can certainly irritate the skin enough to cause peeling.
Natural alone does not make a product good or bad. You will find many good, and horrid ingrediants in both Natural and Synthetic product lines.
Posion Ivy is "all natural" - but not great for the skin. |

The Jannsen Greel Peel was presented as the all natural, chemical free alternative to microdermabrasion. As I prefer to use all natural products whenever possible, that sold me immediately. The treatment consisted of a partial facial and application of the peel. This felt very much like someone rubbing grit into my skin. The product was left on for several minutes of intense burning before being wiped off with a damp cloth. I was told not to rinse my skin with water for five days "because the herbs were working into my skin" and was sent home with two bottles, one of which was a heavy oil-based moisturizer and the other basically a bottle of tint to add to the moisturizer before applying to my skin to help hide the redness. For five days my skin looked like it was severely sunburned, with the addition of small pieces of grit dotting my face (the peel "working its way out of my pores"). The moisturizer was full of chemicals, as was the tint, and basically I was simply coating my skin with a product much like my mother's cold cream of the 60s. After one week, I had a followup facial, including extractions. My skin doesn't look much different now than before, but I definately won't be repeating the fiberglass in the skin sensation.
Conclusions
My skin doesn't look much different now than before. Product doesn't work. |

I might as well thrown my money down the toilet. This procedure did nothing for my face at all. The esthecian told me after wards it would take a few of these "peels" to get to notice any kind of difference. Which i wish she would of told me. I saw more of difference with a microdermabrasion. Dont waste your money! On top of that, you have to buy these so called products "specially" made for the peel. Which i might add our ridiculously expensive!!!! And they made my face worse! I was allergic to whatever was in those products, so i formed all kinds of blemishes! Those before and after pics of the peel is false. Believe you dont get those after results.. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
Conclusions
This whole treatment is a gimmickk......

well, I have big red sport that appear then i am stressed and they can not be squeezed and they last for approximately 3 weeks, then finally fade after 10 weeks, also tried to squeeze them before and have achne scarring on my cheeks. its not to do with my diet, lifestyle just stress- so doing lots of ballet, pilates and aqua aerobics.
so trying to get rid of scarring and improve skin to prevent these big red sports re-appearing.
have found with aqua areobics-due to the chlorine, my skin does improve as it clears everything out..
do you have any advise? |

Have you tryed a home use AHA daily use product. Paulas Choice has an excellent very mild one that is well formulated
This is not scar treatment level - but you can get a stronger AHA from Diana Yvonne.com.
If you are sensitive skinned, the 10% lactic Acid from Diana Yvonne is stronger then the Paulas Choice Acids, and may work better. Though for many scars you will need to spot treat with a 30% or above level product. But Diana Yvonne carries them also.

For red spots a good Antioxidant serum can help alot. Rooibos or Tea based work very well with red spots. You can buy one from DY. (www.dianeyvonne.com) or make your own with Distilled Water and Oraganiic Green Rooibos Teabags and a preservative.
You may also look into the Skinbiology Copper Peptides, they do alot to help sooth the skin and repair the damaged acid mantle - which can related to the red spot fadeing issue.
I am not clear from your post, do you have hard bumps with the red spots? Like Cyctic acne? Is it hormonal related?
Is your skin dry, oily, sensitive?
What are you useing on it right now? Cleansers, treatments etc? |

thanks for your help so far. you've been a real help
i get red spots which just come up bright red, with no head. the best way to treat them is to leave them and cover with clay to dry them out. they then stay on my skin for the next 8 weeks though. also have acne scarring from when i had tried to pick them before to no avail.
my skin is 28, not too wrinkled but sensitive. used to use dermalogica then Neals yard as it calmed my skin down alot. but have a new facialist, who gave me my products and so I have started using them again.
my skin used to be perfect, but is now sadly steadily getting worse. in terms of redness and blemishes appearing.
I will research the copperpeptides.
its just was quite unsure of the green peel business.... |

i have personally had a green peel done, just 3 weeks ago actually! the green peel i had done was the original one by Dr. schrmack (Sp?).
Let me tell you, it was the WORST experience ever and left my skin ravaged with more acne than i have EVER had before in my life.
the procedure was very uncomfortable but bearable. its like having really coarse sand rubbed on your face VERY hard. eeeh...not so pleasant huh?
you arent allowed to wash your face for 5 days and on the 6th day you go in to get the old skin scrubbed off and a mask applied by the therapist. You also get 3 products which you have to apply every day for the 5 days your skin is peeling.
From my experience i would DEFINATELY NOT RECOMMEND it. i had the shock of my life when i looked into the mirror after my "new skin" was revealed. it revealed nothing but acne and redness all around my mouth (hormonal area) and my forehead- i have never had pimples on my forehead before save the few here and there during TTOM. The therapist said that my skin was purging all the impurities that was underneath my skin but hey my skin wasnt that bad before so i would've preferred to leave those impurities seating underneath!  Anyway, she said that the skin renewal process takes about 28 days so my skin might start to clear after that period.
Well, its been 2 weeks since i had my old skin sloughed away with the green peel and my skin is now on the road to recovery BUT i believe it is due to this great procedure called Max7. I have had 3 treatments so far- 2/week- and it has saved my skin. All my pimples have healed and gone away but i am now left with red acne scars which the max7 will help with also hopefully.
The green peel didnt work for me but maybe it works well for more mature skins?

I just got a mini-green peel this weekend and was searching the forum to see if anyone else has used any Schrammek products.
I didn't get the crazy expensive full green peel that costs over $300 and takes multiple visits. Basically I was going to get an acne facial and since I've been using the clarisonic and been on tetracycline I didn't have any new acne and the esthician said that there really wasn't anything to extract and recommended the mini-green facial instead. It's supposed to be a lot less intense than the full green peel. I'm not sure if it's using the same mask but just less of it or for less time or more diluted or something? I didn't see any mention of a "mini-green" on the Schrammek site.
The process is pretty unpleasant. The mask gets massaged in a bit but it contains some gritty bits that feel really sharp and gravely. After the massage it had to sit for like 10 minutes or so. My cheeks started to burn but they put some refrigerated massage rocks on my cheeks, which was soothing. Afterwards my face was really sensitive to the touch. It felt like little pin pricks at every pore whenever anything touched my face. And I was pretty pink, like I'd look with a sunburn. And I I had an awful orange peel texture for an hour or so.
That evening my family was remarking on how "glowy" I looked, but I'm pretty sure that it was just that I was still flushed after all the trauma. By the next day the pain was gone and now it's the 2nd day and I'm peeling. Some hyperpigmentation I have around some recent acne scars is a bit lighter and the enlarged pores on my cheekbones look slightly better. Overall I guess it was more effective than my normal facial, but I don't know if it's worth the pain. And I worry that this isn't good for my skin in the long run. |

I have also actually have this peel done.
Imo, it was just not worth the money. It is very expensive and abrasive. I have high tolerance for pain and tears were flowing by the end of the session and my skin was bright red and partially green. I looked like a monster. Also, it made me very dry and pained even after the treatment.
I had it done twice. And both times were extremely painful and both had me tearing up. And both times I was very dry and red.
I would definitely not get this peel done again. It actually had me break out more. |

| I have had 4 green peels I believe. it is truly painful, describing it as "glass being rubbed on your face" is pretty accurate. The results were so-so, nothing a good "painless" TCA peel couldnt have done |

| I tried a home version of a green peel called Herbal Power Peel. Not sure if it the same, but it did feel quite gritty and prickly and made my skin quite pink. I really liked the results which were that it smoothed out the texture and improved some acne. |
