My little guy has very sensitive skin and the last few weeks he has been getting rashes and hives within minutes of getting in the bath. He scratches the whole time so we cannot let him play in the tub like he wants to. At first I thought that maybe there was one of his food allergies in my hair products and that he was reacting to the residue in the tub, but I double checked and it's not that. I don't think its the cleansers I use either. So my guess is that now it is something in the water, probably the chlorine. We have a new water treatment plant in town so it wouldn't surprise me if the chlorine levels are higher than they used to be. So after doing some research I have found these balls that you swish in the tub for a few minutes to remove the chlorine from the tub. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0015TIEEE/ref=ord_cart_shr?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A2WS062SFJHZH0&v=glance I have called the local health food stores and water treatment stores, even pool and spa suppliers but so far no luck in finding them. I have found them online but the lowest shipping I can find to Canada is $20 plus custom fees. I can't even find them on ebay. Amanzon.com sells lots but none ship to Canada, and amazon.ca doesn't have any Question I'm so frustrated that I've actually found something that may allow DS to play in the tub but can't get access to it. Does anyone have any idea where to find these in Canada?

Try a Vitamin C shower filter like the ones by Sonaki. They have some that are on a hose so you could use the shower head fill the bath with filtered water.

http://www.vitaminshower.net/html/product00.html

http://www.amazon.com/Vitamin-Handheld-Showerhead-Chlorine-Filter/dp/B000YR2ANO/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=miscellaneous&qid=1217556614&sr=8-2

Tests have shown that Vitamin C filters remove more than 90% of chlorine and chloramine. Check out this website that reviews filters, including two that use Vitamin C.

There is also a must-see documentary on fluoride on this site, but of course that is another whole thread...

Thanks for posting that. I've never even heard of the vitamin C filters. Not cheap but they are probably safer than the other filters? And it might work because our tub is a few feet away from the shower so with the hose I could maybe reach the tub to fill it up.

Here is one from a Canadian health food store, Diana, although it is more expensive than the Amazon item:

Darn. I just tried to order one of the vitamin c filters and they won't accept a Canadian postal code. I can't believe this is so hard to find a water filter.

Thanks havana! More expensive price but shipping is only $9 Smile I like their quote

Because we are a Canadian retailer, we may not be able to compete directly with American online retailers. Aviva carries many products that are unique and not available elsewhere in Canada.
At this point I believe they may be the only Canadian supplier Confused

That's probably true, too! Laughing If it helps any, I've ordered many times from Aviva over the last few years and found them great to deal with.

nationalnutrition.ca are also great but I checked and unfortunately it looks as if they don't carry the bath ball.
