Not to beat the sunscreen issue to the ground, but after much deliberation I have finally ordered La Roche Posay Extreme Fluide 50 (Facial formula). This will be my everyday sunscreen to protect my skin from greater hyperpigmentation. ANYWAY, are there any restrictions on the makeup that I may use over this particular sunscreen? I currently use mineral bronzer and mineral powder, with bobbi brown concealer. Thanks...in advance!

Sounds good to me! I didn't find LRP EF made my skin oily so I use EL Individualist in summer. Whatever you like according to your skin type, I would say.

Yay! Great choice. I love LRP Fluide Extreme. Its the sunscreen that I have found that has both high UVA protection and is cosmetically elegant. There are no restrictions with that particular sunscreen and the make up you use. Just make sure to let the sunscreen sink in first and then apply MMU. It uses avobenzone but its highly stabilized and will not be degraded esp when you let the sunscreen sink into the skin first. Good luck!

belledivine67 & Fawnie, what's your skin type? So the LRP Extreme Fluid SPF 50 is like a lotion or thick cream? So no greasy or sticky feeling at all on the face? Also, does it ball up on your face? What kinda of cleanser do u use to remove it? Thanks! Very Happy

I previously thought that Avobenzone can't be combined with the minerals. But Ocean 14 said it's ok cuz Avobenzone is already stabilized by Mexoryl. So I guess rest assured that Avobenzone can be used with MMU?? Confused

I am 41 and have combination skin which is still prone to acne. I have to be very careful about sunscreens, due to breakouts. The physical sunscreens inevitably produce an acne flare-up. I selected LRP Extreme Fluid Facial 50 because it is supposed to be light and have an oil-free texture. I just ordered it today from Texas, so hopefully it will arrive shortly and I will be able to give you a proper review.

Thanks! I can't wait for your review Very Happy Do u break out if u use MMU then since it's physical?

Ocean 14, if I apply MMU right away after applying a ss with Avobenzone, will it degrade it then? How long do I need to wait then? Thanks! Smile

I would caution you to test this sunscreen on some white fabric to see if it stains. I have read reports that this version (facial formula) produces yellow staining of white shirts. Apparently the version for body doesn't stain. I'm not sure if there is a newer version of this since I read those reports (last year - mid 2007). But please test in case you might ruin some white shirts.

huh, I didn't realize that about staining light colored fabric! Thanks for the headsup.
Belledivine, my skin is usually normal, but in the summer gets oily and can break out if I put greasy things on. As long as I remove this with an oil-cleanser, like DHC or Fancl, this doesn't cause problems for me
It is a little tacky and shiny when first applied, but it dries down fast and doesn't look oily. It doesn't dry my skin out particularly. It makes a good primer for any makeup as long as you let it sink in 5-10 minutes. Good protection too .

Looks pretty good! Although the spf 50 is too high unless you plan on staying out in the sun for several hours.

I am in the exact same position! Was thinking about starting a similar topic actually. I have switched to the same ss as you, because a high PPD is key to me. Especially since I have introduced Retinol and acids to my routine.

I was certain I had to throw out all my mineral make-up though. As well as make-up with SPF... no you say? Hmmmmm...I dunno, have been reading this everywhere. If it came down to it, for me I guess the high UVA that LRP offers outwieigh the benefits of MMU.
