I was hoping someone could explain this to me. I thought there were different types of retin-a because when i go to research the different retin-a's alot of them say Retin-a with (tretinoin) in parenthesis. So I am a little confused because I had been getting renova but i wanted to try tretinoin, but it appears they are the same thing.
If someone could give me a little education on this i would appreciate it.
thanks |

Just in case someone else sees this, tretinoin is the chemical (generic) name for Retin-A. |

Tretinoin is retinoic acid. It's the active ingredient in brand names like Renova and Retin-A. You can also buy generic brands with various strengths of tretinoin. Tretinoin is used to treat acne and combat wrinkles.
Tazarotene is another retinoid, found in Tazorac. It's designed to treat psoriasis in addition to fighting acne and wrinkles. |

Retin A and renova are one and the same. Retin A is harsher and renova is more moisturising and used for the wrinkles. i hope that helps. |
