I am in the process of making life changes to improve my health. In doing this, I am losing weight along with my mom and a friend. My friend has lost 40 pounds!!!! but has a major "skin" flap on her belly. Is there anything I can do to keep that from happening? |

I would say lose weight slowly and steadily, keep exercising, good nutrition/adequate protein intake...I do think rapid weight loss contributes to the pendulous abdomen you're talking about. Sometimes surgery is required to get rid of the excess skin: "panelectomy". |

Thank you both for your input. I'll look up the article and keep researching. |

That is an awesome article on loose skin after weight loss....lot's of options and things to try before considering dangerous, painful surgery. I can't thank you enough!!!! |

Sorry I can't access the article for some reason, but in case it doesn't mention this, loose skin does gradually get tighter over time on its own, so it probably won't look as bad as it does at first forever. Body brushing will speed up the process |
