This is fun!
Interesting site to check out harmful ingredients in cosmetics. There were a few surprizes for me.
I basically just went to their best 10 and worst 10 in each category.

tiger tim,
That is a very interesting website. I was extremely surprised at some of the scores. Unfortunately, some of the products I use are not on there. Thanks for sharing it with us. |

This one has been mentioned on the MUA board as well. It is taken with a really, really big grain of salt over there, considered to be a bit alarmist... |

I agree that it's interesting reading but I wouldn't pay much attention to it myself. I think we have discussed it here before (or at least a similar one anyway) my view on it then (it hasn't changed) was that there are minimum concentrations of certain ingredients that would make them carcinogenic etc Just because the ingredient is in the product (in some quantity) does not make the product a carcinogenic. |

I have to agree. That was a good site to list there. It is a sad shame that the general public excepts cosmetic companys getting rich by using ingredients that are harmful. With all of the science and research with herbs and botanicals, there are alternatives. Why spend such a high price, when you are only using products that are bad for your skin and for your health. It is sad that more people are not aware of this. And that most at times just sweep it under the rug and decide to ignore it. I would like to see the United States set much higher standards and regulations for our cosmetic industry.
There really are alternatives out there in the cosmetics and skincare industry if people would take the time to look..... |

Actually, this has come up before and natural skincare did not escape the wrath either. It can also (apparently) be harmful. Some of those assessments might be true, but, grain of salt people... grain of salt.... |
