Subject 1:
female 39, combination skin, fine lines at eyes & laughter lines, some puffiness at eyes, moderate redness in cheeks, chin & nose, medium sized pores in t-zone.
Subject 2:
male, 38, combination skin, med-deeply set crow's feet, moderate redness at chin, medium sized pores in t-zone.
Regime:
Step 1- Obagi-C System Cleansing Gel with dermalogica face brush.
Step 2- Obagi-C System Clarifying serum on face (1/3 dropper), professional-C Serum 5% at the eye area (4 drops).
Step 3- Regular moisturiser (dermalogica active moist) and eye gel (obagi elastiderm) followed by sunblock (dermalogica solar defense booster).
I purchased my first Vit c serum in December. My partner and I followed the above regime for six weeks. The obagi range is a new addition to our skincare.
It is often difficult to objectively review a product on ones own skin. However, I have also observed my partner over this period.
Initially use of the serums caused some stinging, particularly in the case of my partner. He has sensitive sinuses and felt superficial irritation at this area on application and massage of serum. However, this decreased gradually over the first three weeks. Today there is minimal pain at his sinuses on application of products. I believe this may be as a consequence of facial massage each morning whilst applying the serum.
Within two weeks there was a considerable change to the lines around his eyes. I would now describe them as fine lines rather than med-deeply set. As the lines at my eye area are fine, I have noticed minimal change. However, I will continue to use these eye products as I believe they will prevent further line. There has been noticeable reduction in the puffiness at my eyes.
Skin tone was initially a little redder but has started to calm now to slightly less red than before the regime. I will review this issue again in another two weeks.
As this range advises use of a daily sun protection, we have not ventured outside without sunblock. This will benefit our skin long term.
The texture of our skin has become smoother to the touch. There was some flaking on my forehead for the first three weeks, this is no longer the case.
Both of us have found that blackheads appear to have risen closer to the surface of the skin, making them somewhat easier to remove. The jury is still out on the effects of these products on pore size. I have read other reviews suggesting use of the complete obagi regime to counteract pores. However, I need some advise on which regime to follow as there are numerous products.
In conclusion, we will continue to use these four obagi products as the benefits are obvious to the naked eye. I intend to review this regime in another two to three weeks. |
