Hi everybody! I just found this forum a few weeks ago and have been lurking for a while. I'm a few weeks into revitalash thanks to the folks on this board. I'm using it on brows too, but don't see any results yet.
My brows are thin and light, and I plan on ordering some 1000 hour tint that everyone raves about on here. I saw some amazing pics posted on some threads with great results mixing Rogaine and retin A. I just picked up some 5% generic rogaine, but I'm wondering about the Retin A. Is it the prescription stuff? Or something you can buy online or at the pharmacy? I couldn't seem to find a thread explaining the dual process.
I'm wondering if I should start on the rogaine, and if so how many times a day are you all using it? How does the retin A factor in here and how do I get it?
Thanks from a newb! |

Hi and welcome jess, Retin A is a face cream used for anti-aging purposes, it isn't used to grow hair. Use the search function on the top of the page and do a search on Retin A for more information. |

Thanks jom, I have no idea why they are used as a combo, and I can't find all the threads I found earlier. I did find the one with the pics, and it mentions the Retin A, but nothing about why Retin A would be used with rogaine to grow eyebrows or whether it's Rx Retin A or OTC.
Sorry, I can't post a link as a newbie, but here's the one thread I can go back and find now:

Retin A will help the Rogaine penetrate by exfoliating dead skin layers, but it also gave me severe eyebrow dandruff.
Rogaine is also something that you are supposed to use forever...once you stop, the new hairs fall out. (I have dealt with stress-related hairloss since the early 90's...you name it, I've probably tried it)
If you decide to not go the Retin A/Rogaine route, I would recommend Skin Biology Folligen for Blondes...I have had very good success with that on my scalp AND my eyebrows.
Do not get sucked into the other Folligen hair products...they will discolor your hair (I learned this the VERY hard way). |
