Hi everyone, I'm completely new to this but I was looking for some advice after just starting on the Obagi Nu Derm system. It has been 2.5 weeks and I have had the usual dryness and redness, very much so. This I do not mind. However, the product seems to have not faded my pigmentation at all. Infact, this week I have been really worried because I think it might be making it darker! On my neck a certain spot seems to have got dark, but its difficult to tell whether this is not just the redness and irrittion making it more prominent. I am really worried that it wont go away, and that other dark areas may emerge or my current pigmentation gets darker. I am consdering to stop using the products (Cleanser, toner, clear, exfoderm, blender, retin-A, sunfader). Please give me some advice, are these side effects normal, or permanent? Any help would be much appreciated!

Just to add, it seems to me like this may be post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, possibly. But it seem the Nu Derm system is good for treating this, not cauing it!

You must follow the procedure of using Obagi system. But on top of it all, 2.5weeks is not enough to see results. Takes approx. at least 3 months to see visible results. However, just asking..... What you are experiencing is the fact that your skin is "renewing" meaning it is just starting to work from under the skin, so be patient. Also, you MUST use at least 30SPF sunscreen while using Obagi system lines. I hope you are using SPF because it is very important.... Once you start using Obagi system, you can not stop, and you must use it regularly to maintain the results that you got....

also, eat healthy-- more vegies, less meat, more seafood, less fried foods will go a long way in achieving a clearer complexion.

I agree, 2 1/2 weeks is not enough to see results.I've used this for several years and it does work! You can use the Obagi Clear at night as well on just the dark spots. I also use Vitamin C serum at night (use this before the Obagi Clear on the dark spots.) I also use Obagi MD Forte Replenish Hydrating Cream at night to help with the dryness and flakiness I get from the Tretinoin. Hope this helps you. Hang in there. Smile
