I couldn't decide where to post this. I'm considering buying No Frizz by Living Proof and wonder if anyone has tried it?

It contains "a lightweight non-silicone molecule that coats and soaks into each strand, making it repel moisture more effectively even after shampooing between applications." Product contains polyfluoroester, an ingredient used to coat and protect contacts and DVDs. Instead of sitting on the surface of the hair like silicone, it plugs the gaps in each hair's cuticle "like spackle" preventing moisture from entering the hair shaft. There are six products in the line. You have to saturate your hair with the product to get the complete coverage. Apparently, it's hugely effective.

I've seen a few raving reviews on other boards but wonder if anyone here has tried it. I see that their website shop is closed for maintenance or some such thing Sad

I got a sample of this at Sephora...Fortunately, it was a generous sample. I told the salesperson I don't like that sticky, goopy, "way too much product for her own good" look, so she recommended the straight-making cream (less hold) instead of the curl making cream (more hold). I also have a lot of curly hair, so she gave me a sample of the Treatment. This is the thickest cream that's supposed to include a lot of hydration. Ergo, the marketing word TREATMENT... LOL...

Tried it for 2 days --- I really wanted to like this but it fell far short of the hype. Maybe it's because I didn't use enough? According the the instructions, you're supposed to use a very LIBERAL amount for maximum effectiveness.

My take -- I shouldn't HAVE to use so much product that it feels sticky and goopy to the touch. Although curls were left relatively well-defined, all the product left my hair looking dull, dirty, dry and lifeless. I obtain better frizz control and much healthier looking tresses with jojoba oil, leave-in conditioner and Davines Love styling lotion. And I don't have to use a TON of product that costs too much either.

Thumbs down. Way down....But thanks to Sephora, who offered me a sample. That gesture saved me a return trip.

I use it and I love it! Got 2 big sample tubes from Sephora a few months ago. I purchased after using up the sample, and already have a spare in the house.

LOL... this product is a perfect example of that skincare adage...what works for you may not work for another... Very Happy

I purchased this when it first came out. I have both versions. It does work very well for straightening hair, making it pin straight with zero frizz. Maybe a bit too straight. The curl version wasn't that great. It does leave the hair kind of dull, which I hate. They need to tweak the formula.

I use the spray version for fine hair and I really like it. The nice thing is that it doesn't weigh my hair down and even lets me keep some of my natural wave, just without the frizz. It doesn't look dull or oily either. My only complaint is that I wish it smelled more "high end" like the Oscar Blandi Jasmine line...

For me, this product is a double-edged sword. The texture of my hair is fine and porous so it goes haywire in humidity. Living Proof does indeed stop the frizz, however, it also makes my hair feel un-hairlike and look dull. My hair felt like it had been coated with a ton of hair spray, it didn't move, but it maintained most of its style and didn't turn into a limp, shapeless frizz-fest despite dashing in and out of the car all through a rainy day. Because of the way it makes my hair feel and look, I have not done the routine outlined in the instructions which is to apply it for 5 days in a row because I'm afraid it will make my hair permanently plastic. Laughing I've used it for 5 days in a row (at least!) with no problems. The slight coated feeling washes out fine for me with just conditioner-only washing every other day.

Marci - Wow, I can't believe you do conditioner-only cleansing with Living Proof. What cleansing product do you use? And what type of hair do you have? So far, I've used Living Proof only when I know the weather is going to be damp or humid, but then I feel like I can't wait to wash it out. Isn't LP supposed to build up in the hair so that it doesn't easily wash out?

I use various no-cone conditioners when I CO wash (every other day; I do water-only rinses on the in-between days). Maybe every 8 weeks I use DevaCare Low Poo as a slightly stronger cleanser. I have 3b curly hair and I always air-dry and wear it curly.

I haven't heard anything about "LP supposed to build up in the hair so that it doesn't easily wash out" -- I don't recall reading or hearing that on their website either. That hasn't been my experience with it. If I use too much, I definitely get a "coated" feeling to my hair that day (and my curls aren't so great either when I use too much). It takes a bit of experimenting to find the right amount to use for your styling needs. I do remember reading or hearing words to the affect of "you can't overdo it" with this product, that using more is OK. For me, that's not the case. I think they recommend about a quarter-size glob for shoulder-length hair and that's what works for me.
