Hi,i've had difficulty trying to figure out my skin tone.
I'm paled skinned,i think i'm warm/yellow toned but am not 100% but i look great when i wear brown,it seems to make me look healthier.
I don't tan easily but i don't burn easily either!
So if i am warm/yellow toned what colour foundation am i looking for?
Have looked at bare escentuals mineral foundation but haven't a clue which shade to go for, people say look for colours/tones in the makeup but to be honest i can't blummin tell!
Also i have had spots on my chin and they've left dark marks(not white like a scar iykwim),what product/s can get rid of them?
All help and advice would be greatly appreciated! x |

Have you tried BB Creams before? It's known as blemish balm & is very popular in korea. Ever since using bb creams, i've never used foundations anymore. |

Hi eggs!
Gee it's really hard to tell without looking at you what to recommend.....Could you go to a store that sells a wide variety of brands, such as Sephora, and ask for their help? |

I'm warm toned and look best in brown. I don't wear BE anymore because it looks to fake a tin man looking on my skin but I can help you with the shades. For your skin shade you would probably wear the shade called Light. Light is yellow or warm toned. I have the next darker skin tone and I wear Medium Beige. Medium Beige is warm toned, Medium is cool or pink toned. Look at this photo in the link below. See all the shades that say "for golden undertones". Those are warm tones. If you have a light skin tone either Fairly Light or Light would be your shade. Probably Light unless your really, really pale. These colors look diffrent on the skin than they do in this picture.

Hi Roloeggs,
I have the exact same issue as you. I am Scottish so very pale but I'm also Jewish so that part of my heritage gives me olive/yellow undertones rather than the usual pinky tones that most Celtic skins have. I have been sent away from more than one cosmetic counter because they were unable to find anything pale enough with the yellow tones to match my skin. I've been told that Prescriptive would be able to blend an exact match for me but as I don't wear make up too often it wasn't really worth it for me. But perhaps you might want to visit them. The only product I have ever found to be an exact match for my skin is the Dr Hauschka Cover Stick 02 which is good for covering the red marks you mention. The foundation they do is good also but very light coverage.
As for the red marks on your chin and fading them I have been using a Manuka Honey mask, just applying the honey straight out the jar on my face and find it really takes the redness out of both active acne and old marks. However after a couple of uses it seems to reach a limit of how much it fades the marks. I think this is due the fact that some of the redness is deeper within the skin and the honey cannot fade that. For the most part you need to just need to give the marks time to fade and concentrate on avoiding future spots. The main thing I think now when I get a spot is not so much about the zit but more about the red mark that will hang around long after the spot has cleared up! |

Hi guys, thanks so much for all your answers,
i opted for some mineral foundation in the end,in the light shade like Keli13 mentioned, its great but the only trouble is it seems to "sit" on my skin if that makes any sense lol!
I think this may be due to an oily t-zone so have invested in some witch hazel wipes!
Good tip with the manuka honey i will deffo have to try that!and am looking into bb creams (which i've never heard of lol)too.
You've been fab girls,once again thankyou x |

You might try Everyday Minerals for the variety they offer in colours or Meow Minerals though their site can be confusing. If your veins are greenish then you are considered to have warm undertones. If they are blue then you have cool undertones.
For oily skin I rec Jlynne (I have a code if you want it) cos the owner has oily skin so she can really rec a few things for you. The beauty of using minerals is that you can experiment and blend to make your mix. |
