Yes , I tried the cica-care it on my 3rd cesarean scar , I started when it was 3 weeks old and stopped at 3 months , my results where GREAT , my scar became flat and invisible , no redness , I really have to try to find it , the other 2 scars are thin white lines , not really noticeable , but this one is semi invisible, you can only find it on the sides and they look like little white scratches , The best thing about it is the scar didn't adhere to my tummey like the other 2 (ie floats like noraml skin , not stuck on like last 2 scars ), so yes I really recommend using it on surgical scars
I loved my results |

Thank you for your reply. I was wondering if you could share how you used it with me. My daughter just had a tummy tuck, and she is at 3 weeks post op. She's worried about her scar. It looks like a black line right now. Did you put on the Cica Care 24/7? Did you use any scar cream prior to putting it on? |

well , I never wore it 24/7 , but I did wear it at least 10 hours a day ,but I did have to build up that time , so maybe in the first few days an hour a day then 2 hours and so on , washed it with baby shampoo and left it to dry when off ,as for any lotions , I did put on something like mederma called contratubux , same actives , same company and different name , I also used something called MEBO the 3 weeks before I used the CICA-Care , tell your daughter to relax , and if shes uses the CICA-CARE , her scar will turn into red line before disappearing , wishing her a speedy recovery , and great results! hope this helps |

Thank you for the information and for wishing my daughter a speedy recovery and great results. I will tell her to look for some scar cream to help it along, too. |

Hello there, thanks for sharing your results. Did you use Cica-Care or a different brand of silicone gel sheet? Would you mind sharing how you applied the silicone gel sheet? For how long? How often? What type of scar do you have? What does it look like now? |

Yes I have just this for surgical scars and still do, they definitely help to flatten and reduce redness. However you do have to be consistent and it does work better on newer scars. |

When you say newer, do you mean starting about 3 weeks post op? |

Providing you get the ok from your Doctor.
Just the more recent the scar the better the result, I am again treating one scar a few years old but am having much better success with the more recent scars.
I think generally as long as there is no major irriation or weeping from the wound you should be right to go.
