I assume lots of people on this forum doing yoga regularly. Of all the different yogas you have tried, which one is the most effective in terms of making skin better and youthful? |

I dont think it is just ONE yoga that does that. All of them do. But its a long road to see your results so you've gotta be strict and persistent with it.
I started out with Hot yoga but cause of the heat, it actually made my eczema worse.
I'm going to try out ashtanga yoga when the class starts next week. I think that will be interesting. |

I think Kundalini Yoga is good to retain a youthful skin. It is a bit unlike most yoga methods in that it focuses a lot on breathing techniques and using the yoga poses to massage the internal organs. It also involves chanting and so is not to everyone's taste. I went to a few workshops years ago and found it to be the most enlivening yoga I had tried.
However I agree with funkydory that yoga is not something that can be practiced as a targeted treatment it is a holistic practice that infuses every aspect of ones life. Also one could say that forward bends are good for the skin because they make the blood rush to your face and thats true but it would not be a good idea to pratice only forward bends as it would soon have you out of balance.
One of the main reasons yoga is great for your skin though is because it reduces stress and stress wreaks havoc on your skin so it's a great idea to have a yoga practice for that reason alone.
I fell away from my regular yoga practice a few years ago but I'm getting back into it. I have a few DVD's by Ravi Singh & Ana Brett which are great and one by Shiva Rea called Shakti Yoga which is great but not really for beginners. |

I have a DVD from Rainbow Mars called Dawn (I think that is the name). She focuses on cleansing the internal organs/breathing on that DVD. I would not expect a miracle transformation of your skin with yoga alone (and even with yoga, I think it would take many, many years). I think diet is the key to healthy skin, well that and genetics! |

I recently started the Kundalini Yoga and found it is even more effective than other types of Yoga I practiced before in terms of making me feel energized and toned. It is amazing what a huge difference the simple breathing exercise can make. |

No, I haven't tried it myself. It's one of those things I keep telling myself I'm going to look into. One of these days... |
