Can wearing contact lenses make a drooping lower eyelid worse? You have to pull the lid, if you take them off or put them on. Anyone wearing these things?
Thanks! |

I've been wearing lenses for the last 20 years... If you know my MO, then you know I'm not afraid of manipulating my eye at all.... Interesting that Derms don't condemn contacts however. You're right... you do tug on your eye lids A LOT with lenses...
Anyhow... I don't have any probs with my lids... and I wear contacts every day... so that's roughly 20 years times 365 = 7300 days worth of pulling and tugging times twice a day = 14600 tugs at least... plus or minus days I actually chose to wear glasses...LOL... I'm in a mood.
I wouldn't worry about it at all... |

I had worn contact lenses for over 30 years and I don't have droopy eyelids. I didn't take them out every day as I wore exended wear ones but they still came out at least once or twice a week. I didn't have to pull on my eyes much as my contacts just popped out. I had lazer surgery 4 years ago so I don't wear them any longer. I wouldn't be too concerned - wearing contacts is a lot nicer than wearing glasses. |

I wore hard contact lenses for about 40 years ... twice as long as Claudia. Originally they were rigid lenses; I switched to rigid gas permeable (RGP) contact lenses when they were introduced many years ago. I do not have any problems with lower eyelid droop at all; the upper eyelid is a different story though (I attribute it to aging, not contact lenses). I removed both types of lenses nightly and whenever necessary during the day.
I no longer wear them simply because I am not satisfied with contacts than can correct for both distance and close vision problems. I switched to glasses a couple years ago, and hate them too. I would suggest wearing contacts for as long as you are able to, and don't worry about causing lower eyelid sag or droop. |

I've only been wearing contact lenses for a couple of months but I dont see any droppiness on my lower eyelids. However ,I have read/heard that on an Asian forum, there has been a uge discussion about contact lenses and wrinkles around the eyes.
I've been wearing specs for 10+ years and what I have noticed is that my eyes are really puffy, bulgy and I've "froggy" eyes. Would continous wearing of contact lenses reduce the frog eyes? |
