Awww ladies, it is not looking good.
I am only 27, but in the past year and a half, I have prematurely aged. I went from looking 20 to looking 40 something and experiencing skin changes women in their fifties experience. I went from getting hit on by guys who said they thought I was 17 to guys in their late forties and older! And let me tell you... its WIERD and humiliating!
About a month ago, I was delighted that my forehead was still clear! One place the rapid aging hadnt showed up. Then two weeks ago, slight lines started there. Now, they are already becoming deep creases! Insane!
I know that not getting any deep sleep, having such terrible insomnia, getting like two hours of restless sleep a night AND waking up every few minutes is driving the rapid aging. Not to mention the fact that when it started, for like two months, I often went nights without any sleep at all. I dont doubt that is the reason my hormones are now like a perimenopausal woman- which I'm sure is also helping speed things along prematurely.
Take my advice- take care of your insomnia before it gets bad or chronic. It messes up lots of things in your body if you let it go on and gives you even more things to fix. Prevention is best.
I have high cortisol from getting such little sleep so I'm not sure what specialist to see. I was going to go to bodylogic md- they are bioidentical hormone experts, but the lady on the phone said, "High cortisol is much harder to fix than low." She didnt sound too confident. And I know this the high cortisol is one thing that can definitely cause premature aging. So I want to go somewhere that is confident they can lower it.
I'm having trouble picking a dr to see because its extremely hard to make a decision when your so sleep deprived- it really affects your decision making abilities. I know I need to go to a specialist who will test for tons of things because I'm sure there is now a lot out of balance in my body. But they are so expensive and I'm a single mom, and the insomnia is so bad, I had to quit my job. What to do?
Its even more sad because my family just thinks I'm depressed. Ladies, I think everyone of us would be depressed if you look in the mirror and look almost 40 something at 27? My body feels like a 70 year old, I look old, I can't enjoy my daughter cause I'm physically exhuasted, and this destroyed my romantic relationship. I've always been a really friendly approachable outgoing person. I hate that it now looks like I'm frowning when I'm not because my skin is sagging!
I will probably never get married or be with another man my age because my butt has sagged like an older woman and even my legs and butt are getting crepey now- at 27! My boobs sagged a few months ago. This is a girl who looked 17 before this started.
I'm also in turmoil recently over this because I know it didnt have to get this bad.
I tried to ask my family for help the first night I went without sleep. Actually, I asked for assistance before that- when my daughter was waking up every hour for weeks and I needed to get just a night or two of sleep. She would wake up and talk for hours in her crib. I was on the couch, didn't have my own room so I couldn't sleep. I knew my body needed sleep. But I recently found out, all the while, my family was just assuming I was really getting sleep! They didnt think it was possible to not sleep an entire night, so they weren't anxious to help. They just thought I was being lazy- wanting someone else to take care of my daughter! Can you believe that? Thats so sad. (Unfortunately, I didn't know thats what they were thinking at the time.)
I guess my only hope is that hormones can reverse some of the skin damage if I eventually get my sleep normal. Or go on one of those "ten years younger" shows.
Thanks for listening! If anyone has any other suggestions, I would really appreciate it!! Is there a way to get a credit card with a 10,000 limit? lol
Can someone explain how to post pictures? I want to post some before it started and now so you can see how bad it is. |

Are you seeing a dr to address your insomnia?
You will want to see an endocrinologist for the cortisol. |

People have probably suggested this to you already, but have you tried Yoga? An hour a day can work wonders, and there are specific poses to get you to relax.
Why is it that you can't sleep? Is your mind racing etc? |
