So I have been noticing that when I eat 2-3 apples a day my skin seems to do better. i've been battling the worst break-out of my life lately, and apples seem to help. I wonder why. What could it be?
Before anybody says it is eating healthily, I have to mention that I am really neurotic about what I eat. I eat tons of fresh fruits and vegetables every day, fish, oats, legumes etc etc the only thing i think might be wrong with my diet is the lack of dairy, eggs and meat. i don't eat any white sugar and no soy (I'm allergic to it). I try to get my protein in other was, though.
Anyway, I was just curious if anybody has experienced the same with apples? Kinda funny, it might be worth looking into more. Then again, maybe I'm imagining it because I'm so desperate. |

Quercetin found in apples is an important plant pigment flavonoids that serves as a building block for other members of the flavonoid family. Quercetin combats the "free radical" molecules that play a part in many diseases and aging. Including this fruit in your diet every day is a practical anti-aging diet activity
Found this on apples.... |

You found your very own miracle fruit.
Mine is a vegetable and it is cucumber. I have been eating loads of them as snack with lemon and chili powder to stop cravings after dinner. My skin looks better the next day; much, much better. |

thanks a lot, simpleMD, apparently Quercetin is found in apples and onions.. might be worth for me to invest in it as a supplement.
margarett, that is wonderful! maybe i'll give cucumbers a shot, too. i don't eat them very often, don't know why. they're delicious! i'll definitely have a cucumber salad pretty soon.
how weird, lol. |
