is there any way?some women have this problem and although they have a good face and body ,you can really tell their age because of their wrinkly body skin..

I am not talking about lack of exercise which has to do with muscles but skin problem..

Melanie I can believe, but Elle? She really takes care of her body and diet from what I have read. Now Melanie has abused alcohol/pain medications for years and has had yoyo dieting to several extremes.
Ouch, I am going to go rub slabs of cream on my legs just in case that can help.
Necks and arms are the other ones that can show age quickly as well that we neglect.

Aargh, and the cigarette Mad

More protein perhaps? Think of a low-carb, high-protein diet like Atkins, or the one Art Ayers uses in his anti-inflammatory diet - coolinginflammation dot blogspot dot com/search/label/anti-inflammatory%20diet (sorry new poster so dot must be replaced with . )

I remember seeing a lot of different photos of Melanie sunbathing. Perhaps she just always forgot to put the sunscreen on her legs.

Dermarolling may help, but I am not sure. I have wrinkled knees, but not as bad as these in the photos. I have been dermarolling them for a hile, and I guess they start to shape up.

Wow! I can't believe Melanie Griffith is not yet 50. In all honesty, my grandmother is 85 this year and she looks better. Face AND knees!

My god!

I would think sunbathing, probably alcohol could do that.
I was a heavy smoker, very little alcohol and rarely sunbathe, living in Canada and don't put one drop of moisturizer on my body and in no way I am close to that.

OMG! Melanie looks so much older than her years. She has had numerous cosmetic procedures and even then she looks so old. I thought she was at least a decade older. I guess it is genetics! Poor thing!

I have seen that before where people get a face lift but their skin gives the age away and I truly do not know what can be done to the skin to turn back the clock a decade or more to match the face lift. That is why it is so important to take care of your skin and slow down the process of wrinkling before it happens.

I think Elle's looks like something different. I know we don't get a great view of her other leg, but I don't see that spot at all on her opposite leg. I almost wonder if hers was a scar or something?

Exercise is the best way to prevent skin sagging though. I find that when I consistently exercise (and I am talking about 60 minutes or more every day), my skin looks tight and I'm losing the fat without any skin sagging. I also control my diet, too. I cut out the fattening food and eat more healthy food with a lot of veggies and fruits. Drink more water, too. All these things combined help my skin to tighten up very nicely. I don't have any more jiggly on my arms.

Now that my initial shock subsided I agree from what I can see hers do look different on the 2 legs?

That's a tabloid website, and I think they photoshop their pics to make people look worse than they really do.

You are probably right! They can make people look absolutely perfect which they are not and then also make them look bad to get more sales!

I don't think it is photoshop..perhaps the combination of bad light and the angle make it look so bad..she does have some wrinkles..

I see the wrinkles on Elle's knees in that picture, zina. But, they look different to me than the original photo?

So I asked my derm's wife, who is a friend and nutrition expert her thoughts on it. She said that sudden or extreme weight loss can cause it, along with alcohol & cigarette abuse, sun damage, lifestyle choices/abuse. But exercise is a good way to prevent it along with slow diet changes, rather than extreme. But also genetics will help determine how your skin bounces back.

I am not surprised anything about Demi because she has been having ratical face and body plastic surgery procedures for a decade to keep up with her young husband. What gets to me is when they show her as looking so young as if it was natural! I saw her in a movie about 3yrs ago and she looked so manly like her face had dropped. Then she had a face lift because the tabloid were saying how great she looks and how she never ages! The truth is that movie stars age very poorly due to all stress, makeup, parties and very harsh life style but they are able to afford procedures to keep them looking young! We the general public age far better and most of us with the help of a little botox, facial exercise and good skin care are able to look a decade younger than we are!

I have been avoiding the sun, of course, to protect my skin. One thing I do is apply Vitamin C to my whole body. Then on occasion, I apply Tretinoin all over. I don't do that often just because I am a little concerned with systemic absorption.

It seems to be helping. I have noticed that many people start showing crinkly skin on the forearms since they tend to get more sun on their arms. I haven't gotten any crinkly skin on the forearms yet! Well, I am 34 years old so it may be too early to tell.

I would hate to think I would be getting krinkly arms at 34!
I am 33 Rolling Eyes and my arms have no wrinkles yet.
I do have some slight discoloration? on one arm,but that is from some scrapes a month ago.
I'm trying to put lotion that is all natural on my arm, and now my skin looks almost better!

My only issue with my arms, is one of my arms the skin is very saggy...and that was from some damage from a surgery years ago..and somehow my skin never recovered.
I guess I could go back and get another surgery to fix this, but that would involve having my arm sliced open and a couple months rcovery.

I also had surgery a few months go on the other arm (for a vascular problem :
and recovering from that was no fun.

trying to wash your hair with just one hand is very hard, esp when there is no one to help you...

I think my solution si going to be that I can not wear any tank tops outside the house..ever.
Or if I do I am going to wear something like a cardigan or something that covers the arms so at least I look more "normal".

Totally agreed! I exercise 30 mins a day, take very good care of what I eat and drink.

Well, my cousin is 36 or 37 and she has crinkly skin on her forearms. She fully admits to never being concerned about staying out of the sun and doesn't wear sunscreen. I didn't think it could happen to someone at that age but now I am very worried for myself. I hope my endeavors will pay off!

I actually spend a LOT of time in the sun usually.
Not so much lately, but I used to train for inline skating 4x a week outside in very hot outdoor sunny weather.
The club I was with, they are quite small and do not have an indoor track to train with...so we had to go to an outdoor lot (the city gave permission to block the road and it was a parking lot not used after business hours...)

So, 4x a week of 3 hours in the sun, taking the bus and walking a lot outside every day,and other outdoor things

I do not have any wrinkles at all on my arms, but usually use some kind of sunscreen.

My only small issue with my arm is that I have a few scratches and the skin still looks a bit red there...but that was from a few weeks are and my skin is healing well with using Weleda wound care Smile

I also have some scars on my upper arm from a recent surgery, but am trying to use natural creams and hopefully my skin will look ok eventually.

I also use a body lotion 4x a week as my body skin is quite dry.
-usually Aveeno or Derma E lotions that are unscented.

OMG I am so shocked!! I actually recently embarked on a diet and my aim is to lose 70 lbs by next summer, and one of my greatest fears is that my skin will be so loose and saggy I'll need to have surgery ALL OVER! Shock Shock So in addition to exercise and good diet, is there any particular ingredient I should look for in a body lotion I can use daily as a preventative measure? Something with growth factors? Valmont? Cellcosmet?? Please help!! Thanks!

What brand of vitamin C are you using to put all over your body?
