Anyone have any good experience with self- tanners recently -or any recommendations? particularly for face. With the weather changing now I'd like a boost..but prefer a low chemical/natural one that doesn't stink ideally!! |

Hi Pollyanna,
I don't tan in any way these days but here's a site that tells you what to avoid and what to look for in natural self tanners, scroll down and there are products recommended.

The SUN labs looks great too- do you happen to know how bad it smells.
Its the smell that really puts me off them -well that and when they go blotchy and make skin patchy!
*edit* those Sunlabs are a bit too pricey for me-at least here in the UK. They work out to like between $30- $50 a bottle and seem to only come in dark or very dark and I want something a bit more natural..? |

The SUN labs one doesn't smell too too bad.. It smells kinda like walnuts, but not that bad. But with any self tanners, they will all have some sort of smell and it's better to not have any fragrance added to them so you don't irritate your skin. Try it out though! |

I go through self-tanner angst every year and get a headache from reading all the recs. I always wind up buying Neutrogena gradual tanning lotion. Can't remember what it's called but you just put some on everyday so you get gradual color instead of risking streakiness. |

I heard this was really good- Good reviews on it.
Hmmm confused again haha
thanks for the recs though guys -will need to narrow it down soon! I do know they all smell but I think some are made to smell less somehow?? |

My fave is San Tropez in the foam, but be sure to wear gloves!! Even the fastest application and quick hand-wash doesn't get it all off. I like it because it has a bit of bronzer so I can see if I have any streaks and smooth them out. Also, it dries in a flash! |

I like Fake n Bake. It's a better color than the others I have tried. It has more of a brown than orange tint. I'm not sure about the chemicals but it doesn't smell bad. There is a special face formula. |

I like Clarins liquid bronze, it doesn't smell bad and it's not too greasy for the face. |

I just use sunscreen in winters as well as summer but i even apply a mixture curd and lemon juice on my face once a week. It removes the entire tan and even exfoliates my skin. |
