they say they destabilize with light and should be used at night. But a lot of people say it's best during the day to fight off free radicals. so which is it? |

It depends on why you are using antioxidants. If you're using, say Vitamin C to help repair your pores, then it's best to use it at night so that ALL of what you applied to the skin can be used up for that purpose. However, if you're applying it in the day, your skin is simply going to use it to fight off the free radicals that are formed, and diminishing the supply which normally help revitalize your skin.
It's definitely not bad to use antioxidants during the day, because like you said, it helps fight off free radicals. But just be aware that because most of it is being used to fight off radicals, there won't be much left to actually help your skin repair itself.
Hope that makes sense |

What oasisjc said.
In my opinion it's better to use them twice daily if you can. You get all the benefits that way. |

OIC.... I understand now y my antioxidants don't seem to be doing much for my skin as I like to use it in the morning to fight off free radicals. Well at least my skin is not getting worse hhm I'll use it night & day frm now on then to get the full benefit! lol |

Actually, I've read that you should use antioxidants in the morning and things like retinol, Retin A and peptides at night. |

Ditto on the retinoids at night, because you want the Vit A to act as a cell-communicating ingredient for rejuvenating skin rather than simply as an antioxidant. |

Well if you're using a specific product such as retinol, whose sole purpose is to help rejuvenate your skin, then yes you should be using them at night. However, for any antioxidant serums that contain many antioxidants, then those can be used both morning and night for the reasons I already stated before |

yikes! Ok, I got the impression we only need to use vit c ever 2 or 3 days - thoughts?
Also, if I'm going to start using it at night, when do I apply (before or after tretinoin) and how long do I need to wait?
Thanks! |
