So basically I have terrible under eyes and I'm only 26. I'm not sure where or when I could have caused all this damage, but I am wondering advice on how to fix this stuff. From tropicals to derm to surgery I am wondering what knowledge the people of the forum have that could help.
In person it looks worst then you see on these pics. I have terrible darkness on the insides of my eyes, bumps along the tear trough (i think that's what it's called) many very bad wrinkles. My left eye has this huge wrinkle under it and as it extends towards the nose it turns into a crossed wrinkle with lines coming down from the top and bottom and folding in. Because of this the skin folds between my normal bag so it's like there are two bags.
I'm only 26 and have no idea why so many problems this is very stressful
I can't post a link because I haven't posted enough I guess... the pics are at
imageshack dot us (followed by the rest under it's a album)

If you're willing to see a derm, you should consult one first. They are the most familiar with up-to-date technologies that can help you the best. Once you've finished your consult, you can come back here and tell us what you've been told so we can give you opinions on the things he suggested.
Have you been applying sunscreen around your eyes? Many people neglect this part so it can result in aging problems such as wrinkles.
If you want to try something topical, many members here like to use Retin-A and vit C serums. Retin-A can't be tolerated by everyone, and more cannot tolerate it around the eye so you have to be careful and talk to your doctor about it. HTH |

queenielau718 - up until maybe 6 months ago I didn't have one. Most of my life it's been body wash or soap. About 6 months ago I bought clean & clear cleanser, astringent and moisturizer. I don't really have ache but I figured this combo wouldn't hurt to help prevent the random break outs. It didn't seem to do much for my skin so I stopped using it and started to just warm my face and massage olive oil into it for a few minutes then use a warm cloth to slowly remove it. Recently I bought some stuff from skin biology. The Protect and Restore copper peptide, LacSal AHA cream and emu oil. I had to back off the CP because it seemed it was too strong or I was applying it to often or too much. I plan to start using it maybe 2-3 times a week again.
I did two Jessner + TCA (20%) peels. One in Dec. and one in Feb. They didnt reveal "new younger skin" lol. It didn't seem like it caused any damage but does seem like it brought damaged skin out that might have been covered by my top layer. I'm not sure how that works, but that's how it seemed.
So my current regiment is:
AM gentle cleaser and then emu oil
PM AHA cream 2 nights CP 1 night
oasisjc - I currently don't have health insurance so I think seeing a derm at the moment would be expensive. I'm supposed to be getting new plan next month.
I haven't used sunscreen but most my sun exposure comes from childhood. I read that's where most peoples photo damage comes from.
I do plan to see the derm but came here because members seem to be very knowledgeable. I wonder what those bumps under my eyes are. They don't look or feel like milia.
I wonder if anybody has had wrinkle problems like this and was able to fix it through topical like Retin-A, Vit C serum, CP etc or if it looks like my only bet would be bleph or laser resurfacing -_-.
I know some of the darkness around my eyes can't be fixed but I also seem to have tiny red veins showing up too.
So frustrated so many problems and as the years go they seem to be more revealing, but I'm only 26 . Is it normal to see problems like this at this age? |

Maybe try using some suncreen for the eyes every day to prevent more damage?
I like the Colorescrience eye powder...the one with the cute brush!
Also get some good sunglasses- something polarized is better.
Oakley,Nike,Smith,Rayban and a few others are good.
get the sunglasses from a reputable store.
online Backcountry is good, and so is Backcountry outlet.
I really thing it is worth investing in polarized sunglasses.
I remember last year I was skiing and had some "cheaper" sunglasses (still paid $40+ for them) and bought them at a reputable expensive dept store (the Bay).
I thought they would be ok for winter and after 4 hours outside my eyes were "sunburned" and I had some vision problems.
I then ran out the next day and bought some really good polarized sunglasses (Smith brand) and no more problems with sunburned eyeballs...
Also polarized sunglasses reduce the glare from snow, water, pavement and can improve your vision outside.
** also wanted to add I'm 34 and no wrinkles yet...just have some dark circles a bit and some eye puffiness in the morning.
-but then use eye gel w coffee in it and helps a lot! |

Have your skin issues appeared recently? It sounds like you've put your skin through a lot in a relatively short period of time. A "less is more" approach might work well for you at this time. |

For most of my life I probably haven't done much of anything for my skin so now that the renewal process is slowing it's just showing worst and worst over the years.
Even though I did two TCA peels I don't think they reached very deep. It took several layers just to get the skin to frost even a little bit. Each layer was done several minutes apart. Once frosting occurs the peel begins to neutralize. I was able to achieve a mild frost and ended up having a superficial peel. I don't believe either peel reached the dermis. I had no scabbing or swelling just a bad peel like a bad sunburn. From professional TCA peels pictures I see there always seems to be a very deep peel with some scabbing.
Aside from the TCA peel I haven't done much else to my skin.
I am just very frustrated not knowing what these bumps under my eyes are or where these wrinkles are coming from or if they can be fixed topically over time or if I need a more direct approach at fixing them. |

tatsumaki How long have you given the CPs to work? Perhaps you just need to give them more time. Sounds like it's been way less than 6 months even? I heard it can take a year to see visible results, especially if there's a lot to repair. |

I haven't given them much time at all. I applied and seemed strong to my skin (not irritation but looseness) so I laid off for a bit and am going to just use it just 2 times a week for now and slowly work up to more often.
I have been reading around the forum for places to get generic Retin A but still can't figure out which site to choose from yet.
I want to try to make one of Kassys C serums eventually.
I am just very curious if anybody has seen these bumps I have under my eyes. All pictures of enlarged glands seem much larger then the bumps on my skin and millia pictures look like it they are raised.. all these bumps are still skin level (it's still smooth to touch).
I've been exchanging emails with a plastic surgeon in the area that also does cosmetic and said he'd give me a free consultation so maybe he'll also be able to give me some answers. |

Seriously, just do a couple things and stick to them, consistancy is important. Not only are you draining your pocket book but you're getting frustrated and you don't know where to turn.
Dilute the CPs with distilled water as recommended and work up to them and read about them in reviews forum. There's a really good sticky topic and will give you all the information you need. Use your emu oil, use your LacSal in order to get them to work properly. Do a a peel once a week but other than that, don't keep jumping around to other products/brands. Thats my recommendation.
Just trust that it will work and try not to stress too much. You need to give yourself a break girl!
And for the life of me, I cannot get your pictures to pull up...can you fix that link and just separate the url by spaces? And Lord help me, please do not let anyone who you do not fully research to do any work on you. I just don't want you to make a hasty decision out of frustration. Just get the information and come back here. |

I'm a guy actually. I just never knew a thing about skin care, skin damage, sun damage etc until maybe about 6 months ago.
A lot of problems that have bothered me for a long time frustrated me to the point I sat down and did some Google searches and found wealths of information.
I don't think I can really dilute the CP much because it's the cream not the serum but I figure applying less often might work.
I'm not going to see the doctor to keep anything done right away just to get some answers and find some treatments, but he does look like a good doctor been in practice for a long time now. |

I will give a try on:
Duchess Marden Rose Damascena Anti-Wrinkle Serum.
It is very good to tighten your skin, esp, the under eye area. It has a very good firming properties. (you just need 1 drop per night and may be another drop in the morning)
and you can also try the Perfectiveceutical Anti-imperfection Eye Therapy Cream with Growth Factor. It is a eye cream. you can apply it after the anti-wrinkle serum. |

You should probably cut back to something that is just a very gentle moisturizer under your eyes for several weeks maybe a month or so. I might be wrong, but I think milia is a sign of irritation. I did read on the forum that someone liked the IS Clinical Youth serum. I like the SkinActives Eye Bright serum, but I don't have milia.
I can't see your pics from the URL, but I wonder if as a 26 year old male, you aren't being too hard on yourself. You should be able to see a plastic surgeon or med spa and get some opinions without spending too much. Just be very careful before deciding to do anything that might be permanent or even have long term negative effects.
Good luck !! |

HI - As far as your eye area goes - apply some oil first undereye and then put the CP over it. This will buffer the CP ... Or you can mix a little of the oil in with the CP in your hand before applying.
I dont personally care for emu but it should work ok. |
