Hi,

you guys really helped me out last time, so I'm hoping you can do the same again this time round. I am now hooked on DIY cosmetics, and have read extensively on the oil cleansing method - oil dissolves oil. The only con to this method I can find, is that it seems to be quite time consuming. Looking at store bought oil cleansers, some of them seem to contain surfactants, which obviously enable you to just wash off the oil. My question is, will the cleanser have the same cleaning effect (oil dissolves oil)if it contains a surfactant?

I appreciate your help!

Yes it should be fine as long as your face and hands are dry when you are cleaning. There's also a DIY version that includes a surfactant if you're interested in that.

DragoN was kind enough to post it on the OCM thread, hopefully the link takes you to the last page as that is where she posted it.

[All you do is add just under 10% polysorbate 80 to your oil mix and you have the emulsified OCM. ]

Yes Umhambi, It really is just that simple to make your oil blend not only emulsified but acts as a surfactant for very easy rinsing! Thanks to DragoN! Very Happy

Yup, that's the recipe I was talking about! Funny cause DarkMoon also referred that to me when I asked about it before.
