I have super, duper sensitive skin. I turn bright red a lot (between lupus and being fair skinned). I am looking for a moisturizer with sunscreen for sensitive skin. My skin is oily, but I find that moisturizer for dry skin is usually more soothing. Having said that, I am open to virtually any ideas at this point.

I have Aveeno, but I don't think it is cutting it. Does anyone else have some suggestions on what to try?

Have you thought about cleansing and/ or moisturising with single oils that are similar to those found in the skin or are edible? Then you would be free to choose a non-moisturising SPF without complicating your routine. Some users of the Oil Cleansing Method (long thread on the DIY board) report their skin being less oily yet no longer needing a moisturiser. You might not want to use the hot cloth for removing, but instead add an emulsifier so it rinses clean with water.

If you prefer to stick with your current cleansing method you might try a sunscreen marketed at those with rosacea? There is a huge list linked to below which includes ingredients for most. Some products do contain parabens and the like but others have nothing but soothing organics.

I have dry sensitive skin and really like La Roche Posay Anthelios Melt-in Sunscreen. It keeps my skin hydrated and my skin doesn't have any bad reactions to it

I would recommend SkinBiology Protect & Restore Classic Cream for combination skin or Protect & Restore with High Retinol and Oil of Lavender for dry skin. If you are looking for a moisturizer with SPF, then I would recommend
Protect & Restore Day Cover.

All of those products are extremely helpful for sensitivity issues. They all contain Copper peptides that are known for triggering skin repair and other soothing ingredients.

Thanks! I will look into those sunscreens. I wasn't familiar with any of them, so that is 3 new options for me to explore. A friend also reccomended Origins a Perfect World.

I like the OCM, but still want a seperate moisturizer-thank for the suggestions though!

I've started to use some of the La Roche Posay products in the Hydraphase line. I use the 15SPF sunscreen as the Rosacea line of sunscreens caused me to react plus it balled up after application. I also use the water spray.

I think what Firefox was getting at with ocm is that if you find the right kind and amount of oils, your skin may become balanced to the point where you may not even need moisturizer.

Another thing is that most moisturizers contain oil! So people with sensitive skin find that JUST using the pure oil/s, without all the stuff they throw in with it, does the trick without bothering their skin.

Couldn't agree more. I rarely use creams for hydration, just plain oils (squalane, pomegranate, kukui etc). The only cream I would use is Nia24's Intensive Repair because the niacin and ceramides actually hydrate and repair the skin barrier.

Why not try the sunscreen offered by GOW? It's a physical sunscreen so no irritants and the rest of the ingredients seem sensitive skin friendly. For myself I using straight coconut oil at present, it soaks into the skin within minutes but doesn't solve your sunscreen issue. Also I need to add that I have never been acne prone but coconut oil can cause issues for people that are.

Avene is good for sensitive skin. I use it whenever my skin feels irritated.

I have very sensitive skin and rosacea. The only moisturizer I can use is a product called Pro-Derm Regenerating Cream. I cannot use sunscreens, as they irritate my skin. I hope this helps. Smile
