I was always told that you should never pluck above your eye brows, but I went to a new lady for threading and she went crazy up there! I didnt say anything because I was too shy, or thought I was out dated with my "no touching above the brow rule"!

Does anyone else pluck above the brow line?

I remember reading in a magazine once that it looked more natural if you plucked only below the eyebrow, but I think lots of people are going below and above. It really depends on how you look now after getting above plucked.

AFAIK threading is more about getting a defined shape above the brow, the old advice is about not altering the natural shape of your brow by removing whole swathes of hair. I pluck stray hairs above, plus a few hairs on the upper inner ends to get slightly more of an arch, but when I say a few hairs I really do mean a few! Wink

Well,
I never heard this rule before...but then again I'm only in my 30's so......

But for me I know if I did not wax of pluck above my eyebrows they have no shape and I have too much eyebrows.
my eyebrows are a constant battle.

well it depends on how thick your brows naturally are, but usually they say to stay away from that above eyebrow line since it is your natural shape. I did it once and really I didn't do myself a favor, not doing that mistake again!

It looks dumb if I don't. I think the trick is to not alter the arch, only clean up the stray hairs.

I think in the older days when people were a bit tweezer heavy it wasn't such a good idea, but for the last 20 years I've been threaded and she always does above the line and it creates such a nicer look. It just depends how heavy handed you are. Don't forget 30 years or so ago some people plucked them out entirely!

I have never heard this. I tweeze above if there are stray hairs. I can't see any reason not to.

the occasional out of place, crazy hair is always ripe for plucking.

I pluck above my eyebrows on the outside because it gives my eyebrows more arch. I heard not to pluck above my eyebrow, but I think it looks better when I do!

Normally the person doing the eyebrow threading/waxing with clean the part above the brow slightly, to give it a shape. But they'll always advise you not to pluck your own eye brow above on your own. Simply, not to ruin the shape. Sometimes when you pluck your own eye brows too much/wrongly, certain parts may not necessarily grow back.
