The ends of my hair are really dry, but I want to avoid getting a hair cut because I am trying to grow it out.
Is there a product that I can apply to my hair that will seal split ends and make my hair look more vibrant? I was hoping to find a intense hair mask of some sort.

Split ends have to be cut off. Long dry fried hair is never pretty. Split hair continues to split. The longer you wait, the more you will need to cut off. Healthy hair, regardless of length is ALWAYS the best choice.

THEN start treating your hair so it doesn't get so damaged.

A few suggestions here (I haven't tried any of them personally):

Try using Morrocan Hair Oil. It's like a hair serum, but you apply it after you wash your hair. You only need a little bit on your hand then rub it into your hair. 1 bottle last a really long time.
Just be careful not to put too much, else your hair might end up too oily.

Another good product is a hair mask from Apivita.
It's a repairing mask for dry/dehydrated hair.
If you apply mask to your hair, try putting on a shower cap. It helps the mask to work better on your hair.

I would use heated coconut oil.

Trim the splits then protect and treat the remainder with coconut oil
http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlreading/curl-products/mineral-oil-versus-coconut-oil-which-is-better

Note that coconut oil will be ineffective if you hair is coated in silicone conditioners and styling products.

Firefox,

What is your recommendation to strip the hair of silicones in order to get back to naked hair so it can be conditioned?

Any decent clarifying shampoo will do the trick BFG, salons use that before chemical processing if the hair has buildup or color and perms ect. may not take.
You can find a reasonably priced one at Sally's or even drugstores.

HTH Very Happy

If you have split ends IMO I think you are better off just getting them trimmed so your hair can look healthy. You don't have to have alot cut off, just get a dusting. Any treatment that 'mends' is just a temporary fix.

I have been using Redken AntiSnap on my ends (its a daily protein leave in). It seems to be working well for keeping my ends strong (I also get trims every 2-3 months).

I agree GG,

If you don't cut off split ends they will eventually break and split again, trims are your hairs best friend IMHO! Very Happy

I had hair to my mid thighs back before kids! Laughing
