Hi all, new here.

Can anyone recommend me a moisturizer that has an SPF of 30+ that does NOT leave your face extremely oily/greasy/shiny OR ghostly pale? I have had such terrible luck with moisturizers, tried so many of them and all of them either fall in the oily category or pale category.

Thoughts? Thank you!

I have to say that after trying expensive and inexpensive sunscreen's my fave is BestBloc...

My skin develops dermatitis from SLS (sulfates) found in so many skin care products. Plus, the chemicals, parabens... yuck.

It doesn't give me a white glow either.. really dissolves right into my skin. I might even be putting on too much b/c I'm not used to not feeling 'greasy' afterwards. My face just feels nicely moisturized.

The website looks crazy and bold but read the info because at first I was turned off by it... I get their bloodroot / black salve ointments, so I've bought from them before and they are reliable.

The BestBloc ingredients look good but it's only got 2.5% titanium dioxide? Just a heads up, titanium oxide does not provide good protection from long wave UVA. And it has to be coated in silica, or else it actually produces free radicals when exposed to sunlight.

I think the only sunscreen I've ever tried that I would wear everyday is Devita. It's not perfect, though. I actually put on a lot of it, about a heaping teaspoon all over my face/neck. And it dries a little filmy for my taste, so putting on make-up afterwards is a little difficult as it doesn't spread at all. I go through one 1.7 oz tube in 4-5 weeks. The body block feels exactly the same, and it's 7oz for the same price. But it's got retinol. I use it anyway, for now, but I'd like to do more research and decide whether or to continue using it. But it never leaves my face white.

The thing that influences me the most with BestBloc is this statement:

Quote:
"SPF — sun protection factor — measures how long your body can be exposed to UVB before burning. For example, if a person's body normally takes 20 minutes to burn, an SPF 2 lotion can delay the burn to 40 minutes.

For a person who normally burns in 20 minutes, an SPF 15 should provide 300 minutes of protection, THATS 5 HOURS!

The key to good sun protection is to limit the time you are in direct sunlight hours, such as between 10am and 2pm, wear sun protective clothing, and use BestBloc sunscreen that is free of toxic chemicals!"

If I can get that kind of protection with their product, I am satisfied... Especially as the sunscreen feels so dang good on my skin. No flakiness, no greasiness, no dryness. Just a lovely just-right moisture and NO sulfates to boot.

That said, I will contact the company with your information just to get their response. It will be interesting to see what they say! Smile

BCgirl - have you tried the Vanilla body sunscreen? And do you know how much zinc oxide the sunscreen contains? The tomato sunscreen is spf 16, with 12% zinc so does the vanilla (at spf 32) contain 24%?

Also, if you have some extra cash, I've tried the 100% Pure Argan Oil sunscreen, and it feels great. I'd really like to get some, but $34 for 2oz is pretty pricey, considering it'll last for 5 or so weeks.

yes i also have the vanilla body. I wouldn't use that on my face though.... i prefer the vanilla sun cream for face. As for zinc, i'm not too sure how much it contains...

Thanks luminosity, I have never heard of this brand. I have tried so many zinc sunscreens and they make my skin look horrible. I work so hard on my complexion only to cover it up in a white-cast.

So, you find that the coverage is sheer?

Totally sheer... and after the dermatitis episode that recently developed from using sulfate products, I am super picky. I was using NCN's Botox Alternative and just to compare the BestBloc to that... BestBloc goes on much lighter. There is no residue afterwards and no scent.

A little goes a long way... and it feels good to know I'm putting something chemical free on my skin. They do offer a 90 day money back guarantee, so there's always that! Smile

I have to jump on this bandwagon of which is best sunscreen for the same reasons day said. I've mostly when I did use sunscreens use the cheap store brand kind. I eventually got sick of looking like a ghost or feeling greasy to the point I didn't where any last summer. BIG MISTAKE.

This summer I will be out more and I want a nice tan again, but safely while avoid being burned to the crisp Sad

I hope you enjoy it... In my family I'm known as the Return Queen because I love to test things out first. Laughing

Money back guarantees make the process easier... I wish the Safetox offered that, actually. I couldn't tell from the website but I don't think so...

I was at the beautician the other day, and she suggested me the Age Protector SPF30 by True Solutions. Apparently its also works as a moisturiser for skin that is not dry, but for skin that needs more moisture(dehydration, dry skin, etc), this product is lightweight and used as a sun block.

I had it applied on me after I had my facial, and surprisingly, it didnt feel like other sunblocks. Almost couldn't feel it sitting on my skin Smile

Cant tell how well it works long term yet, but the beauticians where i go to swears by how good it is.
