Another new Apple device. I don't see anyone talking about it, so I thought I would start.
I have a really old one that has only 8 GB and I don't think I've used it up to it's capacity.
I decided to remove the data plan over a year ago since I don't use it that much. Now that I want to download some new apps, I can't thanks to having an old model.
So I got a new one.
What do you think of the new iPhone 5? Any problems? How did you fix it?
Is it worth getting AppleCare+? |

I have it and love it. No problems at all, and I do not have AppleCare.
I did find that a screen protector film impacted my touch ability, so had to get rid of that.
I purchased this slimline case and it is just perfect (unless you drop your phone all the time and need more edge protection).

I have one also and have had no issues with it. It's my first smartphone, so I'm like a kid with a new toy . I got Apple Care as, considering the cost of the phone it was peanuts - just in case anything did go wrong. |

I had it and traded it to my son for his new Iphone 4GS for Christmas. I never use a cell but maybe 1-2 times a week at best and since I got the Ipad, even less.
It was okay, small screen for these old eyes and a bit slimmer/smaller than the 4. Seemed to me to be pretty close to the 4 but I really don't use any options really other than the phone, camera and to check my mail.
As long as I had Siri I didn't care, she seems to cater to me, haha. |

I have the IPhone 5 and I like it. I didn't get the AppleCare and have had no problems as of yet.
I had the Samsung Galaxy and I actually liked it better then the iPhone but because I use my iPad so much I wanted something the ran on the same OS. |

A friend of mine dropped her iphone 4, breaking it completely, and since she HAD the Apple Care (you need to purchase within the first 30 days)- she had her phone replaced for just the deductible ($49, I believe?) Having Apple Care was neccessary in her case. In fact, I've heard that with the Apple Care - you needn't bother w/ a case, since accidental breakage is covered. I don't believe in that myself.
I did not buy the Apple Care w/ my iphone and wished I had. I ended up getting it about 4-5 months later for some software issues and after the first 30 days, you do not get the replacement for $49 anymore. If mine breaks, I will have to pay for the replacement myself. I do have a good cover for it for that reason.
OH - and Siri and I don't get along. She just never understands me. |

I decided to get AppleCare+ also. The phone alone is $800 and even though I didn't pay that much and in the past, I had problems with email and the data plan. I wanted no hassles.
I'm looking for a cover and would love to have a stylish style. So far, I find it to be limited here and most are hard shell. I got one anyway from Tory Burch, but I would love to get a nice padded rubber one.
I can't get over how fast this device is. My old one was really old! I'm not too excited that you have to get a data plan, but I'm having fun with it since it is so new!
I haven't explored Siri yet. I don't even know how to start with that.
I love the app called Find iPhone. I can't think how many times I misplaced it and I was in a rush.
bethany, I decided not to get the screen protector since it does affect touch ability. I don't like the film left behind from my finger tips though. |

We have the protection plan on all 3 of the iphones under our account (we have a coroprate one for our biz and just put the kids under it, cheaper for us all with 6 lines). It is a life saver and we have had to use it several times. These babies will break when dropped in a heartbeat.
The Iphone 5 (and my upgraded 4) are so much faster than the 3 I had before that. Night and day.
I have several covers, blinged ones from Ebay, great place to find them cheaply and i have a Tory Burch that I love. Switch them around as the mood strikes. |

Just press and hold down the button on the face of the phone at the bottom. It will come up and you can ask her a question. Then press done. |

Thank you! I tried it out and it is so neat! This may be good for the seeing impaired. I find that it does not work well if there is a lot of noise around.
I can't say it enough. This is so much better then my old iP3. |

I know right? It was like night and day when it went from the 3 to the 5, so when I treded back to the 4 I was still excited!
I love Siri, although sometimes she talks back and I have to remind her who is the boss, haha. |

Do you use Siri a lot? I can't see myself using it in front of other people. |

I don't, I forget that I have her! But I don't use a cell phone very often. I mainly use Siri to entertain my little nieces (and myself).
I have tried using her to text but she doesn't always type what I am saying so I just do it myself.
The best thing about the Iphone 5 (and even 4)is the speed. So much faster than my 3 was. |

Yes, especially when you are used to the Iphone 3 like I was. I got somewhere faster than I could look it up, haha. |
