Im pretty sure I have hormonal acne as I only breakout along my cheeks and jawline. A friend of mine recommended that I try PCA skin. Has anyone had positive results in using this line?..i also have hyperpigmentation from my acne scarring. I have been using retin a for over 3 months now, and it was doing ALRIGHT.. haven't gotten completely clear from it, then started ortho tri cyclen lo because I started breaking out more once I was about to start my period..and my acne got a little worse..i just finished my first month. So I just purchased the PCA pigment bar, clear skin moisturizer, a+c synergy serum, perfecting protection spf 30, & purifying mask. Im curious to see if anyone has used this line with HORMONAL acne. Im also looking for it to help with hyperpigmentation from scarring. Should I continue using retin a and ortho tri cyclen lo?..please help!..im also taking a b vitamin complex, fish oil pills, and d vitamins. Thank you! |

Hello,
I understand how you feel with the hormonal acne. I developed it in my 40's and was never prone to acne before that. I used products like ProActive which worked for a little while then stopped working. That's when I found PCA. I loved their products. The Blemish Control Bar was what did it for me but I now use the Dry Skin Relief Bar and find it controls acne also. In my opinion the secret may be in how you use the products. The instructions tell you to put the soap on your face and leave it for 2 minutes - make sure you do this. I find that while my face is still damp I can rub my hands or a washcloth over my skin and the dead skins rolls right off.
Now for Retin-a. The only Retin-a I've found to cut out my acne is Atralin made for acne. It's a gel and I love it.
Another secret of mine, and it may sound off the wall but go research it first to get info, is apple cider vinegar. I put about a tablespoon into about 3 oz of distilled water and use as a toner. I think Earth Clinic may have the best info.
I good multivitamin and minerals helps also just give all this about a mouth before you decide if it works or not.
Hope this helps.
