My skin is very sensitive, dry and acne prone. I have alot of clogged pores. my pores are very small and have been clogged up over time making my skin look very slightly bumpy all over.

Been trying to look for a way to exfoliate without irritating my skin and then causing me to break out and from recommendations I have came to conclusion I want to try an AHA or BHA. Now what would be best for my skin? I guess at the moment my main thing is to get rid of this bumpy texture all over my face. Also to help my acne.

I would like to tackle the fine lines I do have over my forehead. They are pretty deep considering im only 23.

Is there a way I could use both together?
What would you guys recommend?

P.s I was looking at Paula's choice BHA 2% and 1% lotions. Anyone had experience with them?

To me, it sounds like you might have better luck with BHA but it probably depends on the other products you are using. I highly recommend avoiding physical exfoliation and using a gentle but thorough cleanser. If your epidermal barrier is under attack from harsh products or environmental stress, repairing it can have a huge effect on your overall skin health. A healthy barrier can really reduce the sensitivity and dryness as well as make your skin less prone to inflammation.

I have used just about every exfoliant sold by Paula's Choice. The 2% BHA liquid is great for my combo skin. It has a PH of around 3.5 and contains penetration enhancers, so it is quite effective. It does leave my face a little sticky and it does cause a bit of flakiness around the nose when I use it every day. (I normally use this once a week.) This is the same product as her Clear Extra Strength Exfoliant.

My favorite is the Clear Regular Strength Exfoliant. It is gentle but effective at keeping my pores clear. It has 2% BHA, a PH of 4, and no smell. The consistency is like water.

The 1% lotion is very emollient to me; it takes a long time to sink in on my skin. If my skin were dry, though, I would probably love it. And it is gentle.

From the Resist line, I really like the Daily Smoothing Treatment with 5% AHA. For isolated spots, I am a fan of the BHA 9. I also use the Resist Weightless 2% BHA Body Treatment, which you can also use on your face.

Hope that helps you.

Have you tried an Alpha-Beta Peel? Best of both worlds:

Then use prickly pear oil afterward. This regimen really helps my skin when it suffers from trying out silicone products. I always swear Ill never do that but then someone recs something and off I go!
Alpha- Beta Peels bail me out and get rid of the bumps and spots.

I would suggest BHA or Lactic since you are dry. Start slow!

Agree. Since your skin is very sensitive, you'd better avoid strong exfoliation but first usea some gentle cleanser. You can try some cleasing device for sensitive skin, which can help clean better without hurting th face
