Hello,
I am asking for any product recommendations for those with extremely dry skin. I have always had this... even as a teenager. After I wash my skin, it is actually painful sometimes (now I only cleanse at night).
I have tried some great moisturizers from NCN, Garden of Wisdom (and many others, even Etsy) but they are not moisturizing enough or they are not suitable for daytime use. I bought a cream with Lanolin that is great at night, but I look like an oil slick for hours.
So, essentially: any recommendations for a deep moisturizer that absorbs quickly and stays on the skin all day? I want to feel that barrier if that makes sense.
I appreciate any guidance, thanks for reading this.

If you are not opposed to the ingredients, the Neosporin Eczema cream is really good. It absorbs quickly and it is not greasy at all. Another option would be to look at products from Gold Bond. They have good products that are not greasy either. |

You are asking for a product but most of the times dry skin cures itself when you abstain from the bad stuff(hard water, cosmetics, bad food etc). |

This may sound weird, but when my skin gets really dry, I whip out the Badger sunscreen. For normal days, I don't favor Badger as it is too heavy and occlusive. But if my skin is dry (like today) it really makes a difference. It is a thick, rich zinc sunscreen and after using it a day or two, my skin feels better.
This is the one I've used. I think they also have a version without the citrus oils.

Are you getting enough fats in your diet? Is your circulation poor? That can be a factor too. You can try eating foods that promote blood flow like ginger and chilies but don't over do it as you can get hot flashes.
I also have dry skin and I try to take fish oils and vitamin e.
I also try to exfoliate so the moisturizers can penetrate the skin. AHA lotions are good for taking off dead layers evenly.
Have you looked at facial oils? Avoid the ones with silicone. Or you can make your own. |
