When you apply makeup without priming, can you tell a huge difference?
And how important would you say that it is to prime? |

I apply primers when my skin is in a bad condition, dry or tired, or when the foundation is matte finish and looks dry
It would make a big difference |

I've tried both ways and for me it doesn't seem to make any difference.
But still I do apply primer for long days... I always tell my self that maybe the make-up will stay looking nicer longer.
Veronica do you see any difference or haven't you tried ? |

I've never used a primer before.
So, are you saying that the primer helps stop your makeup from sliding off? |

I've been using a L'Oreal primer that knocks any high-end out of the box for me. Usually I wouldn't bother with one since they tend to be greasy on my skin. I was never one to use make-up base either but I found a Jane Iredale, SPF powder product that I love and sometimes use a light amount of liquid foundation. The primer mattifies and smooths. And reasonably priced - $11.00 at Target or Walmart. |

I seldom apply primers.I think some hydrating and moisturizing creams have similar functions. |

I've always found makeup primers to be an unnecessary step that really didn't do anything for me.
I have used eyeshadow primers that really DO make a difference in how long your eyeshadow lasts especially in hot weather. |

I'm not sure if it really does. But I use primer for long days and to me it looks as if the make up still look nice when I remove it. |

I find that primers give my skin a smooth non oily look. The make up goes on much better, the pores are non existent.
What I use isn't labeled as a primer but it's the same stuff. I use Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder Gel. It's about $7 bucks for 15 oz at Target. Works great! It has to be the "Chafing Relief Powder Gel" though. |

I don't see much difference. I have sample tubes and every so often I will use a bit just for the heck of it. I use Clinique SPF Sheer City Block alone or under powder or liquid foundation. If I use liquid foundation, I sometimes powder my face and that hides the pores as does mineral makeup alone. Makes sense because those tiny particles fill up the pores. |

For the first time, I got eye primer and I found that you still have to apply powder, then eyeshadow on top.
The makeup can still move by the end of the day to your crease.
I put primer on my lower lid and I find the eyeliner still moves/smears.
The primer does help.
I have a sample of Cle de Peau facial primer and never really used it until now. I like it. I think it brightens my skin under the foundation. |

It can make a difference, but it depends on what you're trying to address. If you want to minimize pores, there are some good ones out there. Porefessional is a pretty good one for this issue! |

Since I discovered face primers (or eyelid primers), I use it when I apply my make-up. For me, primers will make it stay longer. I sweat a lot and this helps not remove my eye make-up or face foundation. I use L'Oreal products that you can buy at Walmart. It does the job for me. Maybe depending on your skin types I guess? |
