I'm not sure if this is from exfoliation or a cream I am using. I actually noticed I have tiny cuts on a part of my face, they look like tiny slits, sort of indented tiny slits. I thought I had noticed two or three small ones in the area after I did a few yogurt masks a bunch of days in a row.
Then, I only felt a slight sensation in that area of my skin lately that felt a little sting-like, but it was very very mild and only felt it here and there. I haven't exfoliated in a week though, but I did introduce a new product to my routine the past few days and I feel like I'm noticing more of these slits in the area. The new product I started using is Cerave PM lotion. I also noticed I developed more fine lines on my forehead these past 3 days and was confused why this was happening. Can there be something in Cerave PM lotion that if worn too long (I had it on day and night for a few days) could dry the skin a lot? At first using this, my skin seemed to be happy with it and I thought it was getting some much needed moisture because my skin is severely dry and dehydrated and I don't know how to help it anymore. But it seems to be taking a turn for the worse.....I don't understand what is causing the tiny lacerations on my face in this area. What can I do?? Please help |

I think you have dehydrated skin. I would get these slim cuts on my skin and I thought it was dry, but I'm told by a few that it is dehydrated.
I'm trying to drink more water and eat more fish. |

Yes, that is what I think too but I don't understand!! I was wearing Cerave PM lotion when the cuts formed...why could the lotion make my skin MORE dehydrated and dry? I don't get it. It had hyaluronic acid so it should be pulling it into my skin....
I've had dehydrated skin for 3 years now. I've used so many moisturizers. I don't know what to do anymore either and I have drank lots of water with no effect. |

HA doesnt work if the air dry. It needs moisture to absorb or withwise it will pull it from your skin. I usually put it on after a shower and hang out in the bathroom for a bit to let it soak up humidity.
You could take a look at Dr Denese's book. I can't remember the title but she has a list of supplements you can try to improve your skin. |

What?! That's terrible. They should really put a disclaimer on HA products then explaining that cause I think you are right then, it made my skin dryer and caused the tiny cuts! I am so pissed.
Why do people and how do people use HA then?! Cause this means you have to be sitting around in a humidified room for it to benefit the skin. And yes the air was dry, it's winter still where I live.
This has scared me off from HA. I don't want to be worrying that I need to have my humidifier on and hole myself in my room when I wear it.
What other products should I look to for getting my skin hydrated that won't actually strip moisture from my skin like HA did? |

All I have to say is that I have found with all the comments I get from different SA (without asking for their opinion) they say my skin is very dehydrated.
I got very ill and doctor said I have to drink lots of water.
Perhaps your body is telling you that you need more water.
I've cut back drastically on salt and caffine, but it still kept me dehydrated. I have to drink more water and probably needed because of our age. |
