Don't use it. Yes, if oxidized it will have counter productive effects on the skin. It won't just be ineffective, it will actually be detrimental.

I agree with the others. Once a vitamin C product undergoes oxidation, it becomes not only ineffective but also potentially harmful since oxidized vitamin C may increase the formation of free radicals.

So why chance it?

I have been researching for quite sometime of what is hype and what works or why the hype doesn't work and this is my finding of what to do.

The only way to get what you want and the results to be good and not cost a lot is to make your own. So easy, so cheap, and it works.

Problem with products you buy: Hyaluronic acid is not meant to be with ascorbic acid,(vitamin C) one is drying while the other is pulling moisture. so by using the new supposed anti aging serum it just doesn't work unless you do this. first use ascorbic acid serum, wait about twenty min. Then apply hyaluronic acid serum. let that dry, then I use coconut oil, just a bit rubbed through hands over my face for the extra moisture. coconut oil absorbs into skin and is great for you. this way you keep out the unwanted ingredients, know it is fresh so it actually works and you are using each product separately not mixed together so they work right. buying hyaluronic acid powder and ascorbic acid (the only part of vit. C that absorbs into skin. Online is much cheaper and will last you many makings....... Recipes online for both, just caution on ascorbic acid serum, more is not better starting with a 5% serum. You will need Ascorbic acid powder, distilled water, glycerin if you want a better texture mix. a bit of powder, mix with water or (water + glycerin) a small glass bottle, dark, to keep out light and keep in frig. without a preservative best to use what you have made every week or it will start to lose its value. I will write recipes if anyone interested but there is a great site I can link as well, I will link it later on

I wrote a lot and hope it was not confusing. vitamin c used for anti aging, removing age spots etc. can only be effective with ascorbic acid, the only part of vit. c absorbed. Breaks down and does not work properly if used with certain other ingredients that these expensive serums are selling. they are calling it anti aging and jumping on the money making venture of all of us wanting to look younger so save your money and your face, health etc. and just make it. ascorbic acid works best when used with hyaluronic acid but not at the same time so in my previous post I speak of how to use these properly and both can be made using distilled water, glycerin for texture and a small amount of powder. both come in powder very cheap and last a long time and can make it fresh weekly. I bought little blue bottle set with dropper tops for under ten bucks and came in a set of six (Amazon)to put them in and keep in frig.
