Sorry to bother you all again, but does anyone have any recommendations for eye creams or serums that aren't too oily, but are good for wrinkle prevention and rehydrating the skin under eyes? I'm deciding between about 6-7 right now and if anyone has used any of them or knows of a good one they recommend for my issues? I'm not sure what is better for wrinkle prevention and nourishing skin - Peptides or antioxidants? These are the ones I've been trying to decide on:
1. Eminence Herbal Eye Contour Cream
2. Cellular Skin Rx Eye Bright Treatment Serum
3. Dermalogica Multivitamin Power-Firm for eyes & Lips
4. Cellular Skin Rx Firming Peptide Eye Creme
5. MD Formulations The Temps Brighten & Tighten Eye Serum
I know I've heard alot about the Cellcosmet Eye Contour Cream, but that's just a little too pricey for me right now. Anyone have any recommendations? |

Lol,
I get great results for my eyes from Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Sunblock.
Wacky, but true.
Doesn't do anything for dark circles but gets that SPF 30 so the sun doesn't damage me and puts a lot of hydration up there so my fine lines look greatly diminished. I wear this under my eyes and on my crows-feet-in-training daily. Nonchemical so it doesn't do that burny-itchy thing when chemical sunscreens drip into your eyes. |

Hey. I started getting the start of wrinkles around my eyes early -- before age 25. It wasn't anything huge, but it was noticeable, and I freaked.
Over the next year I experimented with a wide range of products and discovered most of them are absolute bunk. They're overpriced lotions, and they might temporarily hydrate your skin, which is good, but they don't do much else. Don't waste your money on them.
The only treatment which has shown any tangible results is Retin-A. My budding crow's feet are still there, threatening to deepen, but I have to say they haven't worsened in the last year and a half (I'm now 26). I even believe they might have softened some. Plus the overall texture of my skin is nicer.
I plan on continuing Retin-A use for the long-term. A lot of estheticians and dermatologists I've spoken to say Retin-A, along with rigorous sunscreen use, is the best way to combat facial aging.
Nothing is going to provide a miracle, but I think this is the most scientific and reasonable way to go about it, and at least you won't spend hundreds on smartly-marketed but largely ineffective creams.
That's my two cents. |

I'm interested to try MD Formulations - The Temps Brighten & Tighten Eye Serum.
Anyone has tried that? What is the result? Thx. |

I think it's worth a shot...it's cheap...if it doesn't work you aren't out a lot of money.
I'm in the process of using Burt's Bees diaper ointment and I'm seeing results already...at least in regards to puffiness and dark circles.
I should note that I'm going for prevention or wrinkles, not correction of wrinkles. |

Thank you all for your recommendations.
Janis - I actually was just prescribed a Retin A (tretinoin)/Clindamycin gel for my acne. I've only been using it a couple days so too soon to see results yet. I've heard alot of people remark how it's done wonders for their skin though wrinkle prevention wise. I'm a little scared to use it near the eyes though, as I heard it can sometimes temporarily cause more wrinkles or crepiness and I don't have hardly any lines their now except a faint crow foot on the left eye which as long as it stays this small, it can stay forever for all I care
I actually was looking through the PSF line on this site and found two eye treatments that actually have both the peptides and vitamins/antioxidants in them! This was the only two creams/serums that I could find that had both of what I was looking for so I ordered samples of the PSF Stimucoll-C and the Phyto-lift Cranberry Eye (which I've heard alot of good reviews on here). Hopefully one of those will work for me.
As I said before - it's wrinkle prevention I'm really looking for, not wrinkle reduction. I don't really have a problem with puffiness or dark circles as of yet, but who knows what the future holds..... |

I've had no problems using Retin A around my eyes. I mean, I don't put it right up near my eyeballs or anything, just sort of on the edges of my eyes, and in the area where crow's feet are developing.
In addition to smoothing the skin, it apparently does hold value as a wrinkle preventer. It's hard to judge the effects of something like that, though, you know? All I can say is my fine lines have not worsened in the past two years as I feared they might, and my overall skin tone is better. I don't look 21, and never will again, but some changes (i.e. your face losing some plumpness and dewiness) are seriously just inevitable signs of age, unfortunately.
To avoid excessive dryness or crepiness with the Retin-A, it's fine to mix it with a moisturizer. And also, it's good to use it every other day or every 3 days if you're concerned about the dryness.
That's my advice. A lot of other people here will probably tell you about a million different products, and some of them will cost you an arm and a leg. I'm a purist at this point and only interested in scientifically-proven, doctor-recommended skin treatments.
I wasted far too much money and time with the other stuff in the past two years, and I regret it. You're not going to find a magic cure for $200 behind a Macy's counter, you know? |

Yes I am actually using the Tretinoin every other nite, not only to avoid the dryness, but to avoid a possible acne flareup that some people have reported in the first few weeks of using the Retin A. I never had a problem using a glycolic toner, but about two weeks ago before I got the Retin A prescription I started using a Beta hydroxy (Salicylic acid)/glycolic scrub cleanser, and several pimples came out in my face, so I'm kinda scared what the Retin A might do But hopefully every other day might not be too bad. So it still works even if you use it every 2 or 3 days? I was wondering about that. |

I can tell you one I tried and hated... Strivectin. It's the one made for eyes...didn't do a think for my wrinkles or undereye circles. |

I suggest you to try Burt's and Bee repair serum with attar rose. I use this product for a month and I found the small wrinkle under my eye had gone. A lot of my friends use it and they get the same result too. |

I agree with Janis. I've seen the most improvement under my eyes from the use of Retin-A. The only other products I've used that have made a considerable difference are products that include GABA and Argireline. The results from these products are substantial but temporary. Once you stop using them your wrinkles/fine lines will come back. Retin-A is the way to go. Start out with a lower strength and slowly work up to using it every night. |

using Cellular Skin Rx Firming Peptide Eye Creme at morning and Avenue Ystheal+ at night are perfect! I found out that little wrinkle coming out when I was 27, and then I change to use the above routine for a years, for now no more wrinkle coming out! |

I second this. Tretinoin is the only proven ingredient to erase fine lines. I have no problems with using 0.025 % tretinoin gel under my eyes every other night. There is no irritation or flaking at all, and I will slowly work my way up to every night.
It's encouraging to hear that you are seeing results, keli13. This is my third week using tretinoin, and I was told that results can be seen after three months. How long did it take before you could see an improvement? |

Thanks for the info - Forgive my ignorance but which range/s have the Tretinion in it? and does it have any negative side effects as I am usually a natural ingredient kind of girl - but that said, I understand that wrinkles and lines might need a bit extra! |

Hi, sal-star.
Tretinoin is retinoic acid, found in prescription-strength products like Retin-A and Renova. Those of us who don't have a dermatologist to prescribe it, have been ordering it from online pharmacies that don't require a prescription.
I live in Europe and ordered fromwww.alldaychemist.com, where a 20 grams tube of a generic brand is only $2-3. There are several other pharmacies offering Retin-A/tretinoin. Many of them have been mentioned in various threads on EDS. I recall that some EDS-members have ordered fromwww.inhousepharmacy.com. You can do a search in EDS' archive. |

IMO you don't need a special eye cream.
I agree retin-a/renova are the best at prevention and improving but you can also start off with just an antioxidant and regular moisturizer ( I use the same one I use on my face). And sunscreen is the most important IMO for prevention. |

I second that!
you can definitely use your face products on your eye area.
AM: vit.C + sunscreen for prevention
PM: retinol/retin-A for correction
always moisturize your eye area well (especially when exposed to wind, heating on, low humidity etc.), drink enough water, and make sure you always wear sunglasses when it`s sunny - I`m 30 and have realised I`ve got all my eye lines from squinting... I could have prevented that |

Hey Septembergirl,
I actually noticed results a lot earlier than three months. Although I am early twenties I've played sports my whole life and college athletics so the sun has been really hard on my skin. I had faint lines where crows feet were developing and I swear when I look in the mirror now the skin is absolutely smooth from using Tretinoin! I have a twin and I can definitely tell the tretinoin has been working when I compare our faces. I've been using Retin-A for a while now, but I remember seeing significant results after 2 months or less. So I think you're going to see great results |

Thank you, keli13. That means I will be wrinkle-free (hehe) on my 37th birthday in the end of September (my favorite month, also).

That's great to know, Ocean14. I have high hopes for Retin-A. You are lucky to have a twin to compare your results with. |

Hi, Sally.
Yes, you can. I use a 0.025 % tretinoin cream under my eyes with no problems. If you have a stronger solution, you can apply moisturizer first, wait a little while, and then apply Retin-A. Remember that it takes two or three months before you see results. |
