I just saw a posting on using C serums and CP's and it made me wonder how folks are using CP's when they also use Retin A products. Right now I am using my Tazorac at night and the CP's in the AM. Is that the usual rountine? Can CP's be used both at night and in the AM or is that overkill? |

Everyone really has to come up with their own "routine" with CP's. You can use it twice a day, and some people do with no problems. But, there are others who have great results and use it only once a day. Have a look at the skin biology website, lots of great information on CP's there. The skin bio site recommends to use CP in conjunction with a AHA or BHA product for best results. I use Retin A on and off and there are several different ways you can use them together, how you are doing now by using 1 in am and 1 in pm, or Retin A first, followed by CP in pm, or CP first and then Retin A in pm. It is a lot of trial and error to see what gets results for you. I really recommend looking at the skin biology website as there is just a wealth of information on that site, as well as some recommended "routines". HTH! |

Nanci from NCN says to apply Retin A first, let it "soak" into the skin, then apply cps. |

I'd rather not use 2 or 3 different products to see improvement on my skin because I don't know which products will suit me or not. The best option is to try 1 product line and see first if this is good for your skin... then if it is, then buy the other products from the same manufacturer... Cheers.

I agree that you need to experiment to find which combo works best. Also, these actives may be very strong depending the resistance of your skin. Ease yourself into the Retin A and then ease yourself into CPs. I used both CPs (twice a day) and Retin A at night. |

I apply my CPs before my ystheal because it's thinner. I work on the basis of thinnest first. Unless they are wildly different with pH in which case lower pH first and then go up. Thank god I have nothing which is a thin high pH and a thick low pH! |

I think CP in the morning and Retin-A at night is a pretty good combo. |

Hi all! I am bumping this rather old post just to see what the consensus is about using Retin A and copper peptides and how they should be used together.
In reading and looking at websites, is it still advisable to apply retin a first and then copper peptides (p.m. of course).
What about the a.m.? Any thoughts, comments, on this would be most appreciated! Thanks! |

I think copper peptide serum could be used am and/or pm, and retin-A is better used only in the evening routine. |

It is *thought* that sunlight will degrade Vit A products - so the reasoning behind applying your Retin A at night.
You may apply your CPs either AM or PM - your choice (and how you fit it into your routine). Just give a retinoid time to work B4 applying anything on top. It has a half life of about 90 minutes. But, from my understanding, the pH of your skin will cause it to neutralize at about the 30-45 minute mark. So, it might be best to give yourself at least that long (30 min) before applying a CP on top. |

Thanks for answering over here too, Foxe. I resurrected this thread just hoping to get as much info as I can before starting the cp"s. I'm also using Retin a (at night only) and want to continue it while adding the cp's correctly and slowly. Thanks so much! |

Just got my CP serum in the mail today! Excited and cautiously optimistic. But now confused. So, it says apply a dime sized amount to "face, neck and decollete." Does this mean a dime size amount to EACH of these areas, or one dime size amt altogether??
AND, I am currently tazorac and/ or azaleic acid. Are these okay with CPs?
Help!
And, who has really had success with CPs? I have melasma, and the creases in my forehead have gotten much deeper this past year, AND stretch marks on my back (no idea where those came from- no weight change in year.)Can I use on all these?
Want to start, but afraid of the negative things I've read, too! (permanent drooping? That's what I'm trying to avoid!) |

I was planning to use Super GHK Serum under Retin-A, but I'm now wondering if using RA together with CPs is only possible with the second generation copper peptides?
Will the fragile GHK-Cu be deactivated by Retin-A layered on top? |

Yes, you are correct that you cannot use GHK-CU together with Retin-A; while it is fine with the 2nd generation CP. |

I've used CPs for years. The general rule is acids at night and CPs in the morning, the reasoning being that acids exfoliate and prep the skin to be more open to the CPs. |

I use to use Retin_A and Super Cop together at night (RA 1st) with really good results..as in getting compliments on my skin good results.
Retin-A is just unsuitable for daytime so that's a no brainer and the blue super cop serum is not exactly a winner under make up either. But they can work well together.
I ended up changing my routine and kind of abandoned almost all my routines due to unrelated reasons. Nothing to do with any issues with either of the products or their combination..
I may get back into Copper peptides again but my focus right now is elsewhere with beauty tools and you just can't use it all at the same time or all of the time. You have to switch things around. |
