Hoping someone can help me here. Most of my skincare routine, other than retinoids, I apply to my entire body.
For my body I alternate evenings using AHA lotion one night, salicylic lotion one night, and the third night I use DIY vitamin C that I make up and use immediately (LAA and distilled water only), and then 10 minutes later I cover it with a bland lotion with a few drops of Vitamin E mixed in.
Now I'm wanting to incorporate Niacinamide lotion every morning. Do you think I need to wash or even rinse my body first, or is it pretty much new skin all those hours later? My skin feels clean in the AM. I'm just mixing powder into bland lotion like I do the Vitamin E. Should I wash first? For my face I only use a washcloth with water and Paula's toner, but the body would be a pain to shower first after showering the night before. But I will if I need to!
Thank you for any help. |

Anybody? Really just looking for opinions, not scientific responses. Really just what you would do if following a similar regimen.
Above I didn't mean "new" skin in the morning. I meant clean. |

I would think it would be acceptable to apply the niacinamide over the vitamin c as it is hours later.
I am curious on your formula. Can you mix niacinamide (powder) into a lotion successfully? |

Thank you Autumn. I'm not so much concerned with using it over the Vitamin C, but after I apply the C and it dries, I then apply lotion with vitamin E mixed in. So not sure if 8 hours later, I can apply another lotion and it will penetrate easily through that lotion? I've been showering quickly but I'd like to stop that.
Far as the Niacinamide powder, which I mix into Cerave lotion, I originally got the idea here at EDS. I can't remember who suggested it, but they linked the amounts used to make a 5% strength from Skinactives. I don't think I can link as I dont have enough posts, but if you look up their powder, then click on "usage" you will find instructions. Basically it's 1 tsp powder to 1/2 C lotion. It mixes easily and dissolves quickly. I make 1/4 tsp powder to 1/8 C lotion for my body, with a little left over. I believe it works very well! I make it up daily so I don't store it, but you can. |
