I am in my 50's but my skin could beat just about ANY teenager in the sebum dept. Has anybody found anything that actually works? Any fantastic skin serums or primers? Especially want an oil absorbing BB cream. I feel like I've tried everything and no matter what I use or how great my makeup looks when I leave the house-2 hrs. later, it looks pretty bad. By lunch I look disgusting.Blotting papers/powder help but, I don't look fresh and I certainly don't feel fresh. My face only feels good for about 45 minutes, then the rest of the day I feel dirty. Has anyone found any miracle products? Especially a BB that absorbs oil? Thank you so much. |

Dadali, I feel your pain! I am also in my fifties battling crater sized pores spouting oil. I too use those little blotting papers and always have them with me, and sometimes use several. I stock pile them From Muji, so cheap, when I am in London just habit; i see you can buy them in other beauty stores like ulta.
I tried Nanoblur first thinking it would stop the oil, even out tone, and mattify - but its a xxxxx to work with, because it wont blend nicely. So now (the last few months, anyhoo) -
Daily I just use a 2% salicyic acid toner on a cotton pad to swipe the grease off (walmart own, just over a buck, then the Seaweed Mattifying moisture from Body Shop, its an spf15. It is a pleasant loose lotion, you need less than you think ( its a bit runny) this is good - there some left over to rub on you hands! Leave for a minute to absorb. (also tried their tea tree pore minimiser over that, meh, not so good, skip it.) Now the magic, how i wished I had found it sooner, dadadadah..- Benefits The Pore fessional. You can put it on under your bb (I use Skin79 Super Bb in the pink samples, amazon or ebay have it; for some reason the samples seem creamer than the pots - each sample lasting about 2-3 days and even worn alone it won't sink into the pore pits
-it gives a lovely wash of pale colour. Wear a cream rouge, or again i am hugely impressed by Benefits Posie and Cha Cha tints that appear less ' made up' and again tend not to clump as do most powder into your pores. Yo can top up
the Pore fessional when you need to during the day over your foundation, around the nose, forehead or chin -prepare to be amazed, this
is awesome stuff - it is not a cure but a brilliant illission (light refectors) Again only a little dab is needed. |

Have you ever tried IS Clinical or Phtyo C Pro Heal Serum, I love it for oily skin.
Also, Clinique BB cream has a good color and keeps my shine down. I like Dr. Jarts but it is more on the greyish side for color. I mix the two and get a prefect combo and they last all day. |

Hi dadali,
I am 47 and know just how you feel. Just this past month I have started using blue light LEDs, which seems to have cut my skins oil production way down and also 10% salicylic peels 2-3 times a week. My skin is responding great. I only blot once or twice a day instead of once an hour. Acne is still an issue for me so I'm hoping that with less oil that my acne will start to subside. HTH. |

I too am a member of the oily skin club. I recently started using Urban Decay's Naked Beauty Balm in the mornings before I do my makeup. I have been using it for 2 weeks and have noticed a slight improvement in oil/texture and a serious improvement with how my skin looks with makeup on. It really smooths the skin and helps my foundation go on smoother. I do find I have to be extra careful to go easy on the foundation. I'd give anything to not have to wear it but with acne it's a must. Good luck! |

When my skin was horrendously over producing, the only thing that truly helped was oil cleansing method. It worked unbelievably, like magic.
You can read all about it, there is tons of info online and here about it.
OCM for short. |

Hey, I can understand how disgusting it is to have oily skin. Even I faced the same problems a few months before. But, then I started using Dermasome Hydrate, an oil free moisturizer which gave me a sigh of relief. It really worked well for me. I am still using it and I am getting the expected results with it. It prevents the skin from getting oily and dull. Make sure you wash your face 3 to 5 times a day and drink a lot of water. This will help you to keep your skin healthy and fresh. |

I am still quite oily as well(I'm 54). My absolute favorite in this category is called Plasma Bright Veil Flawless Finish by Skinn Cosmetics. It comes in a compact and you use it under makeup as a primer and/or over it to touch up and airbrush. I use very few of his products but I love this. Don't worry about the yellow tint;it's undetectable once on. |
