I find this very interesting and have heard of this so many times that taping your forehead or anywhere with a few fine lines or creases will smoothen skin out and prevent future wrinkles. I am curious to see if anyone has tried this technique themselves Very Happy

I have a box of frownies that I tried but it ended up leaving new lines from the edges of the tape. I use the frownies gentle lifts horizontally on each side of my frown lines to keep from squinting while I sleep and that doesn't leave an imprint. All the other pieces of tape I have tried left horrid lines when I took it off. The best thing you can do is sleep on your back. I bought the envy pillow to keep me on my back. It has a head cradle that pushes you back to the middle if you try and move.

Yep I tap all the time. It relaxes tension in muscles and I once has a great aesthetician tell me that tapping skin lightly strengthens it.

I'm sorry. For some reason when I read that I thought it said tape. I tap all the time as well.

Oh haha! That was me that read it wrong! I also “tape” but use silicone tape. Sometimes the adhesive gives me a reaction and residual redness but I do think it’s helpful with side sleeper lines.

Alie try it for 30 minutes around the house before sleeping all night with it. When I took it off I had a big horizontal line across my forehead. The adhesive also gave me a reaction. It takes awhile to try and sleep on your back a full night but after you get used to it, it's much more comfortable. My clothes don't feel so tight and I fall asleep much easier. I used to toss and turn for hours. I think sleep lines age us worse than anything.

I highly recommend Furlesse patches available at EDS. Gentler than Frownies but effective.

I have also used Nexcare tape but Furlesse are easier. Precut and do not leave adhesive glue.

Jenp I have some silicone tape but I’ve been trying Tonya zavastas wrinkalign and I think it works! Only used it for a few days though so will see how I get on! Victoriaxo I sleep on my back majority of the time what usually happens is I sleep most of the time on my back then the last hour in bed I turn to my side but I always try to avoid sleep lines lol.
Autumn thanks I will have a look at furlesse I’ve heard of them before I don’t know if any of you know who Regina hall is? She’s a beautiful actress has amazing skin and she uses furlesse to prevent forehead lines Very Happy

Regina Hall is beautiful. I like it when celebrities are honest.

Nothing irks me more than the ones that pretend they just "always look this". Unless you sleep in makeup...you don't always look like that.

I agree 100% with this. Its a bit like Cheryl Cole advertising hair products. Its not her actual hair but extensions but she pretends it her own hair.
I find it insulting really.

Really? I haven't heard. I suppose it's a form of massaging and I think massage done correctly is beneficial for the overall complexion and well being.

I went to a Clarins Gold Salon and they specialises in Lymphatic Massage. It gave me a glow that lasted for days.

Tapping on the cheekbone below the iris is supposed to stimulate the vagus nerve. I don't do it since I have a patches of hyper-pigmentation there and I'm concerned that tapping might make them worse.

I'm looking into other means of stimulating the vagus nerve, including auricular stimulation:
https://forums.phoenixrising.me/index.php?threads/make-your-own-vagus-nerve-stimulator.59129/

Thyroid gland massage is also supposed to help prevent wrinkles / rejuvenate the skin. I have a suspicion that if it works at all it is due to vagal nerve stimulation; I had a cough reflex every time I tried it:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4222929/
So I don't do it (also I'm not sure it's safe to mess with the thyroid gland).
