So I've always had sensitive skin etc. For a few years now I've started getting tons of cysts, nodules, and ingrown hairs on my face. Everyone stayed with it being acne. I had brought up rosacea a few times in the past 6 months. Finally, the PA at the dermatologist asked one of the doctors to see me, and he said, “yeah I def think you have acne rosacea”. Ugh.
I've tried a billion topicals things they've prescribed. Tretinoin seemed to help the most, but I can't tolerate it more than MAYBE once every other night.
He prescribed triple cream. Said to use that twice a day and stop the tretinoin. Keep using the self-cleanse if I like it.
Does anyone see these nodules and things drastically clear with the triple cream, when nothing else was working?
I should say mine cycle fairly quickly. Roughly every 10-17 days my face goes from totally clear to these nodules, maybe 30% of them contain pus, all over my forehead, with some redness and inflammation. They last 3/4-7/8 days then overnight one night 75% of the inflammation goes away. Rinse, lather, repeat. |

Yes, I suffer from the same but I have never heard of triple cream. Interested on how that works for you.
I have rosacea, but mine actually started from using retinA. That is what my dermatologist said, so I don't use it all.
The wanted to put me on a low dose of doxycycline but I don't like being on antibiotics long term.

| I love Proheal Serum along with Active Serum, both by Is Clinical, every other night followed by Hydra Cool. It does help. |

I also have this affliction (also known as "Type 2 rosacea") and am lucky enough to also have "Type 1" which is the redness and broken capillaries. By the time I started treatment, it was severe and my face was really red, swollen, and covered in bumps and breakouts. It was pretty bad.
I use Rosiver (Soolantra in the USA) (Ivermectin 2%) cream at night and Finacea (azelaic acid 15%) gel in the morning. (both are by prescription).
The Rosiver controls the type 1 and the Finacea controls the Type 2. My face now looks like it did before I ever developed the rosacea and you would never know. I have to be religious with it though. |

Bluesky, did it actually fix your broken caps? And if so, which one was the most prevalent in working on those.
All my derm wanted to do was give me the old standby rosacea creams that didn't work (cannot remember the names it has been so long) and prescribe a low dose doxycline, which I did not want to take.
The Ivermectin you can get over the counter I believe? |

Sorry for taking like a year to reply!
No, it doesn't fix the broken caps (which I had anyway before the rosacea). It gets rid of the "angriness" as I call it, basically the flushed, red look is gone. Mainly that was the Ivermectin cream. If it did clear up any of the broken caps, it didn't fix the ones that already existed. I wish.
Ivermectin is not available over the counter in Canada. Azelaic Acid is, but I think in a much lower concentration than the prescription version I use (15%).
There is a prescription you can get to temporarily reduce the broken caps, it's like Visine for the skin. The active ingredient is Brimonidine. I have used it once or twice and my skin looked great! The only problem is that it has a rebound effect when it wears off, so your skin gets even redder and angrier. So, I don't recommend it (except maybe if you have a big event to go to or something). |
