One of the toughest challenges in Dune: Awakening is PvP in the Deep Desert, especially dealing with griefers. When I first ventured into this zone, it felt like walking into a hornet’s nest—players attacking structures and anyone carrying valuable resources with zero regard. This made progressing in the desert incredibly stressful.
However, I’ve noticed subtle but important improvements recently. Funcom has dedicated resources to cracking down on griefers and improving the PvP environment to be more balanced and less toxic. As a player who enjoys competitive but fair gameplay, this is a relief.
One of the ways Funcom’s efforts show is in how resources and zones are structured. By increasing Tier 6 resource drops in the non-PvP zones of the Deep Desert, solo players and smaller groups can flank around more dangerous areas and still gather critical items. This setup lets the hardcore PvP players duke it out in the contested zones while others avoid repeated harassment.
In practical terms, I’ve learned the value of timing and reconnaissance. Moving only during safer times, using quick extraction routes, and setting up base defenses strategically have helped me protect hard-earned gear. Salvageable vehicles and better cargo crates (like the Carrier Ornithopter’s) have made resource transport less punishing when ambushed.
While griefing hasn’t disappeared, the developers’ ongoing focus means the desert feels less hostile overall. I’m optimistic that future tweaks will further curb these disruptions, making Dune: Awakening’s PvP more about tactical battles than unfair raids.
My advice for players venturing into the Deep Desert? Stay vigilant, build smart, use terrain wisely, and watch for Funcom’s next balance passes. The evolving PvP experience offers genuine tension and reward, making every successful raid or defense genuinely thrilling. You can learn more now from u4gm. |
