I, unfortunately, purchased the Deception cream, which did nothing for me but have a drying effect on my skin. Appropriate name. Regarding pure emu oil, triple refined, I've had positive results with this product. I order this from a business in the US, Longview Farms. I have dry skin, and found this oil to be extremely hydrating, and felt that it softened fine lines around my eyes and mouth. I used emu oil regularly on my entire face and neck during six months of professional laser resurfacing and microderm. I was also using the Obagi system and retin-A during this time, which increased redness, sensitivity and drying. Needless to say, my skin was a bit stressed! The emu oil felt soothing on my skin, and I believe that it helped the healing process. |

Debra,
I was wondering the reason why you did laser resurfacing and microderm.I am using obagi and retin A for melasma. Now, in summer time even I use sunscreen 60 SPF,I still have brown spots.I have to cover them with makeup. Are not as bad as before but I can see them for sure.I was thinking to go for laser but I am worried about the results.
Can you tell me more about your results and how much money you need.
Thanks
Doinita |

I bought a bunch of products a couple years back and couldn't stand the smell! More recently Deception did nothing for me either. |

Hi Donita,
I had the laser/microderm sessions after seeing the results of a friend. She went to a well-known, popular ob-gyn practice that offered these services in their practice/offices. She had laser hair removal....bikini line and above lip, laser facial resurfacing for a few sun spots and fine lines and miroderm abrasion. I had a consultation and felt very comfortable with the specialist, the equipment and the predicted results, and signed up for a rather large package of six treatments each, laser and microderm. I have freckles, which don't bother me, but wanted to eliminate some of the darker areas that will eventually turn into ugly age spots and really become pronounced years from now. I also wanted to decrease some fine lines around my eye area, forehead and mouth. This specialist also provides Obagi. The cost? I got a real good deal--a special they were running for one month only.....50% off the laser/microderm (12 treatment) combo, because I paid, in full, for the entire amount and because I purchsed the Obagi system, which I got at 30% off. The 12 laser and microderm sessions ended up costing me $750.00. The laser did bring up deeply imbedded freckles/discolorations to the surface and eliminated most. It also decreased and faded some fine lines. I think the combination laser and microderm helped the texture of my skin....maybe the Obagi as well. I'm very happy with the results and I would do it all over again. My skin did go through some periods of adjustment, but this never interfered with my life or anything. Also, because of my light skin, I did not experience any bruising, or terribly noticeable effects of the laser that people with darker skin experience. I have a few free sessions left that I have not used yet, for referring clients. I'm waiting until fall/winter to use those additional treatments.
For anyone thinking of doing this, it's important to go to someone who is experienced and licensed. I went to a professional whose skills and experience, in my opinion, would fit somewhere between a licensed medical aesthetician and an MD (derm.) I received first hand recommendations, and visual results of this professionals work.
Hope this information is helpful. |

Are you referring to the Obagi Blender? The Obagi Blender product does stink! But I didn't notice any smell from any of the other products. And I continued to use the Blender, despite the smell, because it went away a minute or two after I applied it at night. |

hi, no it wasn't Obagi, it was Dremu products, but this was a couple years ago so maybe they don't *stink* anymore. |

I think emu oil does smell bad. If the product contains emu oil, it would probably stink. |
