At the bottom of this article is a chart that lists good and bad ingredients for acne prone skin.

Ena, Great site!!!! I've already learned a bit by surfing the site. Thank you!!!! I have adult acne (which is really *bleeping* me off) Embarassed Thanks for the site link. I plan on reading up more. I am just so tired of doctors trying to put me on pills. Creams, lotions, and such is ok, but not another pill...pu-lease! Exclamation thanks again!

If you’re talking about making yourself a homemade version of the Decleor Aromessence Ylang Ylang oil, customizing it with EOs for your specific skin type and/or skin issues, then here is the way I apply my homemade version of the Decleor YY oil:

When my face is still damp/moist from my ACV Super Toner, I put 2 drops on my index finger and rub it against my other index finger to warm and “emulsify” the oil so that it is easier to spread. While my face is still MOIST from the ACV toner (if necessary, swipe the cotton pad over your face again), I lightly sweep my index fingers all across my face, starting at cheeks, then forehead, across nose, then chin and upper-lip area (i.e.: between nose and mouth). I leave this to penetrate and soak in for about 10-15 minutes while I carry on with the rest of my morning routine (i.e.: blow-dry hair, get dressed, feed cats, etc.). After the time has elapsed, I take a facial tissue or paper towel/napkin and blot/blot/blot the excess oil from my face. Then I apply my makeup as usual.

I think it’s great that you’re thinking of making your own version of the Decleor Y-Y face oil! I guess I really ought to update my recipe to say that you can substitute other essential and/or carrier oils for the ones that I listed to customize it for your own skin type or problems....

Anyway, good luck! And remember: if you don’t come up with the perfect blend at first, the cost of the basic ingredients is so cheap that it won’t break the bank to pour it all out and start over again!

I just add a few drops of oil to my daily moisturizer (I mix it in the palm of my hand) and then put on my face. I do this because I want to make sure that I have sunscreen on (and that is included in my moisturizer) and because I like the active ingredients in my moisturizer. I love adding EO b/c it makes my face so smooth and my makeup even goes on better than when I don't add EO. I alternate between Grapeseed and Jojoba oil.

Good luck!
