Which hand cream is the best the lavender or the rose? |

They are identical in properties except for the fragrance - and both of these are devine too! So I it really depends on whether you want to inhale a rose or lavender scent.
I ended up choosing the rose one but only because I already use lavender oil on my pulse points in the evening. (Also, I had another lavender hand cream so buying a different fragrance somehow "justified" spending all that money. ) |

After reading the rave reviews on Jurlique Lavender Hand Cream, I *so* wanted to like it. I thought luck was really on my side when I passed by the Jurlique store yesterday and saw a basket of big tubes of Lavender hand cream on sale at 30% off. Even at 30% off it was still a bit pricey, especially since I'd just bought the L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream, so I asked for a sample of the product to try on my hands. The SA squeezed about a centimetre of the cream onto my hands and said that's how much I should use (which was fair enough; that's how much I normally use anyways). But then when I rubbed it in I was left with clammy hands, like I had sweaty palms or rubbed a thick layer of vaseline into them or something. Needless to say I was disappointed, especially for a product that costs as much as it does, it sure didn't feel pricey. When I went to the ladies a couple of hours later to wash my hands, I was literally washing the cream off of my hands - it never sank in!
I don't know if the SA gave me a 'bad' tester, but it certainly put me off the hand cream.
I am very happy with my L'Occitane purchase, and will continue using it (until curiousity and greed get the better of me and make me 'stumble' into something else that's better).
Think I'll go write a review on the L'Occitane hand cream now... |

i agree the only difference between the two is the scent. the lavender is my preferred (i don't like sweet scents so much).
pumpingmummy - it sounds like the shop assistant gave you way too much to use.
one of the reasons i really like this hand cream is that it lasts for ages. i even use a little on the bottom of my feet. the cream sinks in, and there is no greasiness, just the softest, smoothest skin. this, and the chanel eye make up remover, are the only two products i always buy, and never deviate from |

I guess... I suppose I'll go back to the store and try some on again. I really wanted to like it.
Anyways, coming back to the original question, lorrapaw, I, too, prefer the Lavender. The Rose reminds me of an old lady. |

I must ask my husband if he feels like he is sleeping beside his grandma.
Pumpingmummy, I agree they probably gave you too much to use.. I usually use that amount at night when it has 8 hours to do its work. To tell the truth, I have not used this in the morning.. I must try a bit and see how I feel. As a "before bed" hand cream though it is just WONDY. |

no I didn't mean it that way, y'know...my mum would feel insulted, too if she heard me saying that . But oh well you know what I mean, I don't know quite how to describe that 'old lady' smell - powdery, talc-like. I love the smell of roses, though. Just not this one. What's interesting is that one of my girl friend thinks it's the lavender scent that reminds her of an old lady - but then it may be because her grandma used to keep lavender sachets in her bed.
Whatever.
Doesn't matter though, the scent isn't an overpowering one. |

hmmmm....
There were so many good reviews about this hand cream that I was planning to order it when my credit card recovers. Now I have to think twice. There is only one Jurlinque spa in my area so I guess I will need to go and test it out find out
Edited to say there is also a L'Occitane spa right next to it. I will try their handcream out also. |

well, between my rose handcream and lavender oil our bedroom smells like a lovely English garden each night. Hubby also uses lavender oil for a restful sleep (though on occasion if I have gone in first and accidentally put on too much he says he can sleep off my scent ) |

Both are the same, as mentioned. I prefer the rose one myself
I finished my tube of this so I can't go test it out again but 1cm does seem like too much though.... I do agree that it is expensive (I so wish it wasn't!), so test it out again when you get a chance before plunging in and buying it. This is usually my preferred gift for people I visit overseas - I gave a tube of this to Sassyred when I visited her in San Diego earlier this year and I think she liked it (or she was just being nice ). |

I don't know, I haven't had any EDS visits from overseas yet! You can give it a go and we'll see what happens |

I used to be a big fan of Jurlique's hand cream too. After using a few tube (big size), I've to look for sth else. It seems it's not working as good as before. Then, I get a chance to try L'occitane and I switched.
After using L'oc for about 2 Winters, my hands are getting drier than before. So, I tried a few more brands on the market ,like Elizabeth Ardern 8 hrs, Decleor, Darphin, Dermatologica, etc. They all gave out good results and the begining but once my skin get used to their ingredients, they are not as good anymore. I'm lost now. Should I keep switching hand creams like this or am I asking to much from them???
Help??
Plus, is there a real good way that we can keep those lines forming on our fingers? They really bother me!!
